Undercover S/S 2006 Paris

I tried on that black deconstructed t-shirt jacket where several cut-off t-shirts would transform into a blazer... It's been a very beautiful one but the pricetag - as some already pointed out - was hefty (on par with a tailored Dior Homme blazer) and questionable if that is indeed justified... after all it's just cotton jersey, unlined and without any reinforcement in the shoulders. I guess it should be much more reasonably priced in Japan due to the lack of import taxes that naturally add to the retail price elsewhere.

^ YEAH!! He made the same for men! when i saw it, i want it so bad, but when i saw the price tag :( it was very expensive, almost 1000eu i think...

You should see JW reconstacted jackets this season Tricot...they cost almsot 800euros but i think they worth it!!

I don't think the guy needs any more capital to growl, he's got enough money to do whatever he likes. Besides I doubt those ltd edition sneakers will bag much for him.

We should bear in mind that these sneakers amongst some other items are collabs for Silly Thing who opened up the first UC store outside Japan. I sense alot of these collad items are directed by the thinking by the Silly Thiing crew and some of the items make no sense to us whatsoever but will be fought over by the HK streetwear crowd. UC still has alot of respect with the Japanese scene and I suspect it is his quirky, dark noir approach to clothes that continues to fascinate many....naturally his vision may not appela to many but sometimes its the few that count....same can be said of Number (N)ine with the "f*ck YOU" all over print tee and Axl Rose tees....Neighborhood is another label that baffles many Europeans but has cult status in Asia especially amongst "streetwear" heads...these are the same group that appropriated CDG and made it street fashion in HK, Taiwan and Singapore...there is a revolution in street fashion for sure and it will be interesting to see where it goes....UC, although around for so long, is a torchbearer of an ideal which goes beyond established perceptions of the scene...deep respect for the man....

P.S. Check out Madsaki's work (he collaborated with Jun a while back and is making his own clothes now....)

Does anyone know where you can see the undercover menswear collection online? can only find womenswear, he probably didnt show his menswear on the runway eh?

^ thanks for your input rakis:-)

I think you get to the point with the streetwear scene. I assume the street "kids" were the first to recognize him and gave him the respect, and support. I have heard that even in Japan UC is being considered too hard to wear, with his dark, apocalyptic aesthetic.

One cannot judge the designer based only on the trainers (which are just trainers, the more simple and close to the orignal, the better:-) This is just one of the fields of his work.

Jun doesn't show menswear shows.. His menswear is only for showrooms.

However, from time to time some of his menswear will be featured in magazines like East Touch and Men's Non-No.

If you do a search on this board, you'll find a thread with Jun's menswear.. I believe it is called "Are there any pictures of Undercover Men Fall 05?"

There are three books of JUN; the collb with SILLY THING shoes had my favourite logo " WE MAKE NOISE NOT CLOTHES" for the opening of HK shop, then JUN made the same shoes with the logo" UNDERCOVER JUN TAKAHASHI" for the TOKYO shop, just for your kind info....
