this is quite a great topic. from my point of view i find gary oldman completely underrated. he is brilliant, which he proved in the dark knight.

i would also focus on joaquin phoenix, michael sheen and ryan gosling. they deserve much much more.

but. the most underrated actor XXI century is leonardo dicaprio. i am mesmerized by his acting abilities. every time i see him on the screen i feel like i see a different personality. completely. i love his acting to death. he is my favorite actor, apart from al pacino, of all time. he was flawless in 'the departed', the movie that left me speechless for hours.

oh. i totally forgot about paul bettany. he is also brilliant and very talented. but i think his role in wimbledon wasnt a necessity.

i would love to see him in woody allen's movies. i think they deserve each other when it comes to art and sense of humour. both bettany and his wife jennifer connely remind me of woody allen.

i would also hazard a quess that he is a better match for allen than scarlett johansson who is allen's new mia farrow unfortunately.

by the way. i find scarlett totally talentless. she is a total mess on the screen and always plays the some role. and it doesnt matter if it is the other boleyn girl of justin timberlake's videoclip.

Also, Ann Marie Duff- she's the wife of James McAvoy. She portrayed Queen Elizabeth in a BBC movie and she blew me away, she is brilliant.
