It's a lovely image but the layout, color scheme and taglines are just so wrong imo. I'd love to see the pic without all those distracting elements.

That cover shot would be fine if they were selling us "the new neutrals" or "Kate Hudson bare" but not this nonsense about a happiness issue. If that's the case, you need to hire one of those people who can smile for a living. Did they not have Julia Roberts a month ago? Her smile goes on for days.

On Allure's site, the shot certainly looks far more superior without the text.

Awful Photoshop and amateur layout aside, I do love the cover shot and think Kate looks terrific. With the grey backdrop and close-up composition, I'm reminded of Francesco Scavullo's Vogue covers from back in the 70s and 80s.

Mood Elevators looks a lot like something US Vogue would do imo... only that Allure takes a chance on models outside the usual ones.
