You don't get to pick them individually like a group of models.. These are real ppl in a real event. I honestly don't know half of these people, and always loathe Katy Perry, in short I don't care for them as subjects individually, but for Elle US, it looks good from an editorial perspective. Their audience is atypical to the compulsive fashion reader, they care about mainstream topics with mainstream appeal. I mean the whole world is talking about Musk and by extension SpaceX, anything that somewhat responds to that automatically generates eyeballs. you either go the cheap shot Teen Vogue route or this. And, the last time Vogue submitted their female empowerment cover, it was the Swift and Kloss shipping which was way cheesier.Even Sanchez? And Katy Perry? Really?![]()

What is an example of journalistic excellence to you in mainstream fashion? imo it's good timing, they manage to push and spin the lib agenda in a fresh way: female achievement ticked, diversity ticked, a pop star ticked, also having a futuristic theme in a realistic way. I'm not following any of this too closely but there was a NYTimes podcast the other day on 2 NASA astronauts coming home as well, going to space is a thing. Can't turn my nose up at that, it sounds cool. Just wish they wore Moncler Grenouble.^ Let’s be real, it’s Bezos-funded spon con. That’s fine, I suppose, but I don’t think it exactly qualifies as a coup for Elle or journalistic excellence.
