US Elle April 2026 : Sofia Coppola by Carin Backoff

Probably the only celebrity I truly stan, so this is a must-have. It's extremely generic, though, and I've seen, essentially, this exact shoot with her several many times. Wish they'd gone in a different direction, but I am still thrilled to see her.

Who will be on the model cover?

I repeat US Elle started with model covers. Every month one model in demand is having a proper OG printed cover.

Again, what is going on with American Elle? The magazine has, once again, become a shadow of its former self. The covers have become so flat, mundane, and a complete non-event. I don't even mind Sofia Coppola as a cover subject, but this is so... underwhelming and naff.

When Sofia Coppola was photographed by Steven Meisel for WSJ. Magazine's (June/July 2017) cover and accompanying portfolio that was something surprising, glamorous, and very special. I am not in love with the outcome shown here for US Elle's new issue. I like the styling, but the results are underwhelming and boring.

Not a cover worthy image. I love the movies but this looks like an Instagram shot.

i don't like covers with sunglasses but otherwise it's always good to see sofia.

I love how there's such a divide in reactions, like there's an invisible vote where 51% are saying "I love it" and 49% are saying "this is not a cover shot".

I can't explain it, but Sofia reminds me of Chelsea Clinton on that 2015 cover. I miss the old layout of Elle America so much, the MANY articles, and an issue that would end the month before you'd even finished reading half of it. Now everything seems predictable, pre-defined, ehe "perspective" section is the only central point of a major article, and monthly it features weak profiles or equally irrelevant topics. The magazine has lost its substance, its no fun anymore. Even the Ask E. Jean column was a delight, even though everything sounded too crazy – maybe that was Robbie Meyers' balance.

I remember very well the first issue I bought – July 2008 with Mary-Kate Olsen on the cover. It was a different time, a different era, but everything seemed more rewarding to me - you paid and got the result somewhere within those pages; today everything is so aseptic in Elle's pages that it's as if the magic has gone away.
