Wow, Vogue China is just like a raging bull that cannot be stopped. They've not had an issue less than 250pages in years.

The previews were honestly underwhelming initially and even comical (can’t really fault LW’s disposition). There are actually some good, if not better BTS/outtakes shots.

Had higher potential Summerton’s spread should’ve been longer and varied (the clip did it better); confused by Ziqian’s but it did offer the contrast of LW in this (more comfortable with dark/moody shoots); and nice to see her work with Imano – though wanted more scenery and peripheral architecture, but suffice to say the Givenchy shot is gorgeous.

Overall, it’s a good bunch of shots/concepts. Print made the difference for sure.

Lastly, should give props to Alex Slavycz and VC for suggesting this cover story in its variety (and to women, specifically). It's obvious but good to see the continual commitment they have for Liu Wen.

I don't want to be negative Nancy but Liu's ed is so forgettable. I know it's great for her and God knows she deserves it but the one shot that sticks out for me is where she is lying on the floor (by Fumiko Imano), that close up would have made a fantastic cover. Everything else is only meh. They gave her lots of photographers but maybe it should have been quality over quantity.

The Bohemian Rhapsody editorial is so bewitchingly good! The fourth, twelfth, and thirteenth shot would make a fantastic cover. It’s one of the best editorials I’ve seem from any magazines this year.
