So this post might be a tl;dr post, but I wanted to share why I like US Elle through the specific features of this month's issue.
First off, I love their cover stars - they are always fresh and young. No matter how over-used Drew Barrymore is, I love her, and I will always like to see her. I haven't read her feature yet, but her images are beautiful...as are Ashley Green's.
Second, the trend pieces are nice, but this month they weren't my favorite...I did like however the section where the editors picked their favorite pieces was really nice. I especially liked Joann Pailey and Kate Lanphear's selections.
My next like of the magazine is that it always gives me something to research outside of the magazine. This month some of that came through the feature on a handbag launch party that Mulberry hosted at Kensington palace. This editorial piqued my interest in Princess Margaret (who the bag was named after), as well as the band that played at the part - Delphic. Another source of inspiration is the news section which gave me Rick Owen's new furniture line as well as a new designer from Moscow.
One of the most important parts of the magazine - the editorials - were great. I especially loved 'Noctures' because it combined great styling, great photography, great location, and a great model. All of their editorials are just my style, which is why I might be biased.
All of the other features and articles are just gravy to me. In my opinion Elle has started to parallel Vogue and has even surpassed Bazaar in terms of quality compared to other mainstream domestic magazine.
