US Elle September 2017 : Alicia Vikander by David Bellemere

Crikey!! Her worst cover ever (even surpassing Porter), exceedingly depressing. Looks more like a snapshot of an abused woman. No wonder certain celebs demand photo approval.

Robbie Myers for me is like the American version of Alexandra Shulman. This magazine's written content outclass that of US Vogue and their efforts to further women's causes are commendable (I particularly enjoyed the August edition!). But the fashion component?

Scared doe, it lacks confidence which is needed with this pose.

Couldn't agree more. Elle is always a good read but the fashion content is forgettable at best, it's also just blurs all together from month to month.

Also 500 pages seems kinda small for Elle. I guess the days of the "Biggest Issue Ever" are over:(

I just don't get her appeal at all. She's always such a non entity on every single cover I've seen. She's beautiful on paper, but doesn't have any allure.

Really? September issue? She's terrible in print. And this styling.. could be more safe?

At a time when every other magazine seems insistent on celebrating anniversaries, perhaps it's a good moment for US Elle to look back through its own archives, to the era when it used to produce amazing covers (eg 1989).

And I seem to remember the magazine was printed in a more square format back then as well, so they should be looking at how those cover shots made such an impact on that size of page.

After all, what is the point in going bigger if you're not going to make full use of your real estate?

If her name wasn't in this thread, I'm really not sure I would have recognized her.

Pose, etc. looks like a lighting test or a set up shot. This feels incomplete.

Her expression is awful but so is the styling imo, that hair!
I like the layout though

A rather uneventful cover for September, and I severely dislike 'The September Issue' written across the cover like that. The whole cover feels very sterile! The white background teamed with the white Louis Vuitton and the red masthead, all just reminds me of nurses/hospitals/first aid. Not to mention I wouldn't have even recognised Alicia Vikander.

LOL sorry but I can't stop laughing , she is terrible in print so terrible cover EVEN David who I love the work couldn't save this

I really hate it when magazines place "The September Issue" on the September issue. Like duh?

This magazine is lost. It's lacking direction and the identity is rather stale

She looks like something you would see sleeping on the sidewalk outside of a night club. She looks tired, the dress looks tired, and this cover looks tired. Last month with Emilia was a knockout, this is hot mess. Next!
