US Vanity Fair August 2007 : Shia LaBeouf by Mark Seliger

I like it, it's a refreshing change. Yes, I do remember Even Stevens. Those were the days...

so funny...

i remember just a year or so ago i watched "The Greatest Game Ever Played" with my (much) younger brother, and i thought to myself 'who is this kid??' then i actually watched the credits to find out his name and it was Shia LaBeouf. he had such onscreen presence that i just felt he would make it big.

then i watched "Disturbia" and i knew in my guts that a new MOVIESTAR had been born. there is something about this kid. some indefinable "it". the same thing that Tom Cruise possessed as a young guy. i've been saying to all my friends, "Trust me, this Shia LaBeouf dude is going to be the next Tom Cruise". and here he lands a Vanity Fair cover -- at age 21!!!

2 years from now we'll all know every minor detail of his life, and he'll be as famous in Japan and Korea and Brazil as he is in America. he'll be making in the 10s of MILLIONS of dollars per movie. trust. he's the next big thing. no doubt about it.

^ I agree. He's super talented. I think he won a Daytime Emmy for Even Stevens. :flower:

i loved him in 'Disturbia'. i find him so refreshing and different (in the good way, obviously)
the cover looks great, can't wait to see the rest of the shoot

I don't think he's good looking in a "in your face" kind of way, but I think he's cute... there's something about him. I like the cover.

He is such an amazing actor... I wasn't a huge Even Stevens fan, but I've been a fan of his since Holes. He's going to go far.

[And he looks pretty damn hot on that magazine cover... I guess I have a thing for those Jewish boys :crush:]

A very boring issue, according to the cover. Not a single piece that sounds slightly interesting to me.

NO. NO. NO :sick::yuk::judge:

Are they kidding or what ? This guy on the cover ? Sorry i'm kinda shocked . WTF is he doing on the cover of the Vanity Fair. Seriously NO! What is he except an WAY TOO OVERRATED actor !?!

Damn

My first thought was that I agree with moussemaker - that there might be a different person on the cover of the UK edition, because I have never heard of this guy, nor any of the TV stuff he's been in. I wasn't even aware of him as a film actor.

On the other hand, the cover shot is interesting, and the ploy might be to introduce him (and his expanding film career) to a new audience in the UK, using the concept of 'Tom Hanks' as the hook for people to get a hold on what this guy might be about. I don't mind learning about someone new.

But I still haven't got my subscription copy of the Africa issue, so it could be a long time in coming. I suspect someone at the postal service has 'donated' the issue to themselves.

The cover confirms my opinion of him.The kid is very average looking.
Actually the average guys I see about town are hotter than him.

I don't doubt his acting abilities but they are promoting him so hard as the new "movie star"... movie starts used to be a lot better looking!!

I don't think his looks are strong enough to carry covers like this...he doesn't have the strong dark features usually needed by male actors. He looks really young still...

I think he is cute and i like the cover,i also love the fact that they put someone who is on the verge of a promising career, they used to support young talent like that in the past.So i think its cool he got a cover,it is refreshing.

doesn't the UK Vanity Fair usually have someone else on the cover? Wasn't the Queen recently on the cover? Or am I confused (it's quite possible )

I think a lot of people in America don't know who he is either. He's very up -and-coming which is a nice change for Vanity Fair. I think a lot of people in my generation know him and like him because we grew up with him on Even Stevens and now in these movies that are aimed at teenagers and young adults. This sort of thing is getting him a lot more attention and I think he is soon to be a household name but I don't think he is even here where he is more famous.

The UK and US issues are identical in printed content, though the ads are completely different (far fewer ads in the UK edition). It's the rare issue, maybe once every two years, that they run with a different cover for the UK, but there'll be a good commercial reason for it.

In the UK, we get supplements that I don't know if the US version gets - about twice a year, there's a watch supplement, and there's also a regular jewellery supplement too.

Yep, it's Shia for the UK cover too. The inside front cover is a Burberry gatefold ad, so as soon as I get my issue, that cover is coming off.

i got this issue yesterday, and it is pretty thin...
i have to say, the interview with shia was very good...
it's obviously a marketing push for transformers, and him...
lots of great ads though...:P
