I went on a magazine newstand today and flip to the vanity fair magazine to see Shia and the pics looks incredible!! There's one of him and a mermaid!! love the pics!! and of him in a car (I think, not sure) he's looks so cute. He even was in Even Stevens!!
I like Shia, I dont find him ugly at all and besides that isnt the point.
I think he is a good actor too, its very hard to transition from a child actor to a serious actor working with the likes of steven speilberg and other big names (that i cant remember haha.)
its refreshing to see VF showcasing younger newer talent on their covers.

i think it will be their worst selling issue of the year,i do like however that shot with mermaid.the whole reference to splash and tom hanks,that was a good idea

Why is he wearing a space suit on the cover? Honestly, only Neil, Buzz et al look decent in those.

A lot of the posts here are very disappointing. Yes, tfs members can provide great opinions based on the covers' aesthetic- appropriately, I guess only for models and fashion. Let's just hope that we've all watched one of his movies and know something about him, let's say by reading the article, before saying that he's not worthy of a VF cover. VF has ALWAYS been "showcasing younger newer talent on their covers." It's nothing new. Some have become great actors, others disparaged to small roles. But all with TALENT, which is a priority if you want to work in an actual good movie, not looks.
And if we're talking about the cover itself. An astronaut suit is definitely worth a second glance.

As ever, some interesting articles in this issue. The thing I liked most was the back page Q&A with Cosmo legend Helen Gurley Brown. Still going strong, I see.
