I don't expect much from the 'Best Dressed' list - it seems to be yet another one of those inbred affairs where the VF staffers give the accolades to people they're 'friends' with. But you have a great cover, there'll be a good amount of ads, and hopefully some decent articles with depth, so that'll make up for the 'Best Dressed' indulgence.

i disagree entirely. there is at least one man or woman of color in all but one category. michelle obama, tiki barber, michael roberts, rachel roy, damon dash, isabel and ruben toledo, liya kebede and more.

i tend to agree with your opinions on the best dressed list, but every year there seems to be a few surprises...
i would have never expected them to chose tilda swinton or marjorie gubelmann...
both are always gorgeous and discovered how to inject their own personality into the clothes...
it's also nice to see liya kebede in that group...
she was the only model selected (not counting lauren bush)...
interesting because she's not on the cover...

gotta wonder why renee zellweger is on there...
her style is downright boring...
but like you said, it's a bit of a popularity contest...

Regarding the race comments...the magazine is not obligated to pick at least one person from each race, and it should NOT work that way.

WOW That is a great cover,and why the hell is Kate Moss not on that list? Very Happy about David&Victoria Beckham they are never boring and try different things,the same for Ruben and Isabel Toledo.
But Renee Zellweger?Someone needs to enlighten me,what is so amazing about her style?Its just because she is smart enough to wear "Nast" designers like Oscar,Ricci.etc

Very happy that Michelle Obama is on the list.
