US Vanity Fair September 2008 : Carla Bruni by Annie Leibovitz

Gosh!!! I adore Carla... I think some people do not remember that she was one of the biggest supermodels as well! Plus she is wonderful singer and song writer... Plus, probably one of the most beautiful first ladies in the world with the wonderful sense of style... and importantly, very interesting person. I am not a big fan of the Cover but I find some comments here just excessive in nature... Certainly get this cover...

I really do like Carla aswell, and the more people hate the more i am drawn to her, the cover is beautfiful she is a stunning woman, as is the spread. But come on, this is not good enough fro SEPTEMBER!

Vanity Fair can be so up their own **** sometimes!I bet they were really proud that they scored Bruni for their cover, but how will this sell in US will remain to be seen.

Maybe this is the UK version and the US version wioll have the supermodel cover?

^^Its American VF,its pretty clear by the text on the cover and its on their site.

yes, it's definitely the us version. i really like carla, but i would have preferred a multi-girl supermodel cover. happy to see that the shoot still made the issue at least.

I don't like the cover...however I'm sure the interview will be interesting..I can't help but be slightly fascinated by this woman

i don't dislike the cover but i think they could have done much better... i love the picture inside of them on the hotel bed... and the one of her by the piano.. gorgeous  i love her as a musician.... not sure about anything else...:innocent:

I'm glad they chose Carla for the cover. She's a beautiful and elegant woman, just what a magazine like VF needs.
Honeslty, I'm never looking forward to supermodel covers or editorials for that matter. They airbrush them to death and make them look so unattractive, at least to me. Latest example: the Prada campaign with Evangelista, what a pity.

^^Hahah lol, i know right. I guess Fwd was misinformed about this or VF decided that Carla feature was to big not to give it a cover, it wouldnt be the first time they changed their cover subject.

She's trying too hard. She will never be the next Jackie Kennedy.

And Annie Leibovitz should stop. Her latest work is atrocious. The beauty of Carla saves it.

Love the cover subject. The world can do without a "supermodel" cover. Supermodels don't really exist anymore. I remember Carla well from the 90s. She was a "B" level supermodel, famous here in the States mainly for having an affair with Mick Jagger, who had no room to talk when she called Carla an adulteress. I don't like most of Carla's actions-she is predatory toward men and esp men who are with other women, she doesn't follow the "girl code", but I'll be damned if she is not one of the most fascination women around. Plus, I reluctantly give her points for being a Capricorn like me. Do we have a table of contents for this issue?

That list is an absolute joke!
I like the men choices though.

I personally like the cover, but that is because I like Carla Bruni. The more people talk crap about her, the more I like her. I'm not offended by any of the choices she's made, I think she is a gorgeous woman who deserves to be happy. And who doesnt like gossip and constant pictures from the french government?! I like her.
I think it could have been a bit more exciting, it is a September cover after all, but it does put me in a fall mood, I like the mellow colors.

I like Kate Middleton and all and I like the way she dresses, but I wouldnt consider her one of the best dressed women.

So since this is the September issue, I'm guessing it will available sometime the middle of August? (the september issue is actually the only issue of vanity fair that i buy)
