US Vogue August 2012 : Marion Cotillard by Peter Lindbergh

Very classic cover, Marion looks gorgeous as always and Im a sucker for blue velvet. Excited for the fall preview.

The banner in the left corner is already bad enough, then we have to read "Ice Ice Baby" on the cover of Vogue. WHY ANNA WHY?!

TEXT OVERLOAD

It really would look phenomenal without the stupid banner and less text. But Marion looks amazing regardless.

Yaaaawn !! She looks beautiful but there's absolutely nothing interesting here.

I really thought Anne Hathaway had this in the bag until I heard the rumours. I guess she was busy filming Les Miserables. :D

It also makes me believe that Cotillard's role in The Dark Knight Rises is more substantial than the trailers want us to believe (and a lot of fans believe that, too). It's a nice cover. Just very forgettable.

What I like about this cover is it looks like a portrait (if you took away all the text the image would be really stunning), yes it's simple, but still very effect in showing how beautiful Marion is. It's not the most exciting cover but I think it works. Someday for an issue centering on age I'd love to see a women who's like 60+ because older women can age gracefully too... but I suppose a girl can dream!

Really like the styling, but Marion is such a beautiful woman but she looks empty on this cover. Doesn't do her beauty justice.

TEXT OVERLOAD
I know, I also know it's such an ancient complaint but seriously I'm thinking 'great shot.. pink letters.. nice velvet piece.. pink letters'. Is it really that financially risky just to tone it down A LITTLE??

Oh well. She looks beautiful .. I loved her last US Vogue cover and I like how they finally went for a more modern but still equally natural route this time. I don't even look forward to her interview because she's really one of those few actresses whose craft is everything and speaks better than anything mags or herself could say about it.

The best picture I've seen of her and that's not saying much.

Really? I don't think this is Marion at her best, but I think she tends to photograph beautifully.

Her Dior ads are consistently gorgeous...

I love the pink and the blue together. The colours pop for me.
She looks gorgeous but I agree it's not the most amazing pic used for a cover.
Can't wait to see what's inside.

The mood is very Lindbergh indeed but that ''Ice Ice Baby'' banner couldn't be any more off-putting. I think that no banner and deep red instead of pink text would make a world of difference for this cover. On another note, crossing my fingers that the contents will be just as great as last August - a pre-taste to whet my appetite for the big one next month.

Beautiful in its simplicity. I love that they didn´t photoshop her mole like other times :)

Marion looks beautiful here and I especially love the way she stares but man, this is just a complete bore. Plus the text overload is just...urgh...too much.

Looking forward to the content. Hopefully there's a Meisel editorial. :)

Marion is absolutely gorgeous, but this cover doesn't add anything to her, i wish they did something maybe more creative

She's wonderful....i will be buying Vogue in August for the first time in a long time.
