US Vogue February 2005 : Melania Trump by Mario Testino

Does anyone has the scans of this issue? I'm dying to see the main contents and how this issue aged like milk. lol

I don't think it aged like milk in the sense that the tagline on the cover was snarky - referencing Trump's "new" wife - even the title of the story was mocking - "how to marry a billionaire".

Makes sense

Melania and Kim Kardashian. Two of the lowest moments in Vogue's cover history.

Was the Dior HC dress on the cover her actual wedding dress, and did it appear on newsstands before the wedding? I can't be asked to Google, sorry.

Maybe Hillary Swank was supposed to get this cover? It seemed very uncommon for Vogue to do such long editorial on a celebrity who didn't feature on the cover. But then I guess McDean wasn't shooting covers for them at that point.

I read in "Melania and Me" that Vogue had to be the first to photograph the dress or they wouldn't give her the cover. I believe it is her actual dress.

Benn is such a snob and a half LOL

I don’t care who’s on the cover— just have them look above and beyond; that’s the point of Vogue. And Melania and Kim were propped up to that standard. Sure— the coverlines and feature story is a tad on the trashy tabloid side— but Anna’s Vogue covers have always been strategically subpar to bait the commoners… Look how far this Vogue has plummeted when they’re styling and photographing the Vice-President of the USA to look less sleek than the average yoga mums running daily errands. And the contents within resembling the city-funded paper of local entrepreneurs with their “fashion” line… Do you prefer that???

Klein's work for Vogue US is so different and good compared to some horrendous things he does for other brands and magazines!

This is a perfect example of how horrendous & mean spirited Vogue has become. A frivolous article with no negativity about Melania one can make up their own mind whether it’s love of money or the man :D
Personally I could never understand this cover - you get the opportunity to be on the cover & you cover your face - truly head scratching.

Craig McDean did shoot the November 2004 cover with Jennifer Connelly (his first US Vogue cover). So it’s not entirely unthinkable that this shoot was intended for the cover.
