Oh God... Anna devoted so much time to these half-baked swans. I'd forgotten how insufferable mid'00s Vogue was with it's fixation on well-parented but completely unqualified for anything young ladies. TNT and Aerin Lauder profiles in every issue...Yes, one might argue they've swung too far in the other direction, but boy, they have some making up to do.

This is the Hair Issue! Insane!

That Melania story is fascinating in every way. I find her story and her marriage quite fascinating as a whole but the angle of the article is quite cringey in a way...

It’s funny that she hesitated so much for her dress because Dior by Galliano, despite how glorious it was, was unmistakably Trump! The collection was very Trump, the dress was Trump and the brand too!

That being said, to Melania. There aren’t a lot of trophy wives that could pride themselves to have grace the cover of Vogue.
Melania and Kim Kardashian. Two of the lowest moments in Vogue's cover history.

Was the Dior HC dress on the cover her actual wedding dress, and did it appear on newsstands before the wedding? I can't be asked to Google, sorry.

Maybe Hillary Swank was supposed to get this cover? It seemed very uncommon for Vogue to do such long editorial on a celebrity who didn't feature on the cover. But then I guess McDean wasn't shooting covers for them at that point.
Yes it was her own dress. I think it would have been fun to have her in various looks from the collection actually....
