US Vogue February 2005 : Melania Knauss by Mario Testino

I loved the dress ever since I saw it on the couture show...why can't she just do the full runway version,you know...nude bustier, drag queen make-up, skyhign platforms, beauty mark and all. I mean the dress is fantastic and she should really respect the designer's original version, plus she is already a clown so the entire ensumble would be very appropriate.

HiLARIOUS!!!! :lol::lol::lol::lol:

According to the Vogue article, she originally like the satin blue dress worn by Charlize Theron to the Golden Globes:

And she didn't like the runway "wedding" dress at first; she thought it would be hard to walk in. Here's the dress from the runway:

Vera Wang created her other dress for after the wedding but her first choice was this SS05 Valentino, with a beaded waist instead of the straps:

Well at least she wanted it to be private. I would like to see pictures of that dress though.

That it utterly hilarious. Eat well before the wedding so she can wear the dress? Good greif!:lol:

Like anyone cares whether or not they see her dress before the wedding, or ever for that matter. I'm suprised Trump didn't try to get himself on the cover also :lol:

That man's ego never ceases to amaze me. He acts like he's the king of the world. I wanna see him in a showdown with Bill Gates.

Melania Knauss On US Vogue Cover Feb 05

In her Dior wedding dress...here's what vogue.co.uk has to say about it:

THE DRESS OF THE YEAR
spacer.gif
MELANIA KNAUSS vetoed her husband-to-be, Donald Trump's plans to broadcast their January 22 wedding on live television because some things should remain private. She doesn't mind who sees the dress though. The 34-year-old Slovenian model, who was accompanied by US Vogue's Andre Leon Talley and Sally Singer to the Paris Couture shows last year to buy her trousseau, is featured on the cover of the February issue in a white satin Christian Dior gown made from 300 feet of material and embroidered with 1,500 crystal rhinestones and pearls. Estimated to have cost in the region of $100,000, it is thought to be one of the most expensive wedding dresses ever made. Keen to capitalise on advertising revenue potential by broadcasting his third wedding, 58-year-old Trump has kept his business savvy high on the agenda in the run-up to his romantic day. He was rumoured to have negotiated a half-price deal for a £1.5 million engagement ring from Graff in return for the publicity. His future wife wants to keep the celebrations, which will happen at Trump's Mar-a-Lago villa in Palm Beach, Florida, open to invited guests only however and it seems she has spared no expense in the preparations; details include invitations made by Tiffany & Co and a five-foot-high, Grand Marnier-flavoured wedding cake. And Knauss, who has been advised to eat well before the wedding so she is strong enough to wear the dress and will sit on a bench rather than a chair to cater for its volume, doesn't want to change a thing. "I like him the way he is," she said, when advised by Tom Ford to persuade Trump to do something about his much mocked sweep-over. "Yes, Donald, you are lucky," concludes US Vogue. In the fashionfile video I think it was, on that couture show Melania said she was totally in love with the wedding dress and that it will be hard to top...so she apparantly liked it instantly....or did i read that in a review...I know i heard/read it somewhere, so it is true :flower:

Doesn't she know its bad luck for the groom to see the bride in her wedding dress before the wedding?

I guess considering who she is going to be marrying, the luck would only last a good 2-4 years anyway.

To add my two cents:

*The dress is ugly.

*If you are earning money from your profession- then you are a "professional"

*If you are not earning money from your profession, then you are not a professional of said profession..

*Isn't Trump having a bit of financial troubles?

* If the wedding is to be held in Florida- wouldn't our darling Melania be a bit warm in that heavy dress in .....80 degree weather.

Last but not least......The dress is ugly!!!!

:::::::KEEP SMILING!:P :::::::

That's not what the Vogue article said...she's quoted as liking the blue one. After the show, she and Andre Leon Talley went to Dior in Paris and tried on the blue one, and scheduled a fitting for when she returned to New York. It wasn't until that fitting, after finalizing some of the other details, that she decided on the finale gown. She may have liked it at the show, but it wasn't the dress she was going to wear.

Then that would still make her a model. She has a contract with A.Link and with Charles & Covard.

I remember her name coming up quite a few times in Europe and on the catwalk. She must be more famous there.

It looks like there are cushions on the dress.
