Thanks for sharing this!

What a... trip. Not going to lie, I started judgmental and amused after first reading this typically Vogue/tone-deaf 'war but make it fashion' bit:

Vanity still goes on. To carry with evening clothes, Elizabeth Arden’s white waterproof velvet gas mask case-cum-vanity, with a pocket for makeup.

Lady Kinross individualizes her black waterproof gas mask case with a charm that holds a miniature photograph.

Then I read more and thought 'ok so like a pandemic.. personalised/expensive/cheap masks and all that'.. and then I just remembered how surreal it all was initially and how, if you had told me in 2016, that we'd be like the people in 1918 by 2020, I would've laughed. So now.. I'm reading ALL the stuff they had to carry in case of surviving and getting stranded who knows where and for how long and.. that's horrible, and very much a possibility (way more than a pandemic). Just to recap, cause it's !!! (especially the ration card, WHAT is that?! :loudlycrying:.. I still can't believe I needed to line up for eggs and at 6:30 am if I wanted to be one of the lucky ones lol)-:

For first aid: bandages, safety pins, Lysolat, burn lotion, iodine, smelling salts and scissors.
For air-raid precaution: adhesive tape, electric torch, string, pins, dark spectacles, and a scout knife.
For comfort: fruit drops, chocolate, a small packet of biscuits, bicarbonate of soda, cigarettes and matches.
For entertainment: a good book and a pack of cards.
For official or business use: passport, ration card, petrol ration card, blood transfusion card, identity card, check book, address book, note paper, envelopes, stamps, fountain pen, pencil and blotter.
For vanity: cleansing cream, tissues, eye lotion and cup, Velva cream, powder base, powder, lipstick, emery board, orangestick, a clean pair of stockings, handkerchief, clothes brush and a small sewing kit.
