US Vogue November 2023 : Carey Mulligan by Jack Davison

I know.. I thought to myself 'literally no one is waiting for a Bradley Cooper movie' lol

Don't know why but I always end up watching Carey Mulligan movies on flights so I've watched plenty and man, is she boring.. as an actor and style-wise, and red carpets in awards season are going to be painful with her permanent :woozy: expression. I'll never understand Anna's obsession with her or her passport.. BUT, I actually find the photos above rather nice and fun for Vogue, I miss old-school Tim Walker so this brings back some of that...
Same here!
I watched her also in too many movies lately. And i know now i will never ever get her appeal. And the hype around her. For me she's the Naomi of Acting.
Because she has two ways of acting: Over-the-top-Oscar-bait-acting or just the bored acting.
Nothing in between.

The editorial is very final year art school project. In a good way... LOL

Here's the full cover layout with additional text:

The ed is very much creative and artsy... no way she would've let to be published something like this 10 years or so ago

It will always be refreshing to see new names shooting US Vogue covers, but this is too 'out there' for them, however nice it is to see Carey. They should not have allowed this photographer to go crazy like this. What about the Vogue standard?
Unfortunately for Anna she jumped on this 'let's try new things' phase too late. I doubt there's an audience who want this.

P.S. I'm liking the tfs update, very boxy visually, but everything is so clear.

I like Carey Mulligan, I really liked Carey's past covers (especially the 2013 one of The Great Gatsby) but this one is rather bland and senseless, and I can't think of the missed Angelina Jolie cover!!! I see what a tonne goodman she is the fashion editor (and I'm amazed because her work has always been top)

I like Jack Davidson, but he is not a fashion photographer, and definitely shouldn't be anywhere near Vogue. This will line countless trash bins across New York.

Please stop trying so hard. There was absolutely nothing wrong with using a proper cover shot.

this makes miesel's throwback super clear classic cover shots seem even more subversive ... but i wanna know why they secretly had to hide her face??

Angelina's cover is amazing. I can't believe Anna didn't use it.

This ain't a cover image, and we all know it. Carey doesn't have that level of celebrity that can carry a cover of this much anonymity in camera angle. Vogue, get it together.

What the hell is that? I thought it couldn't get worse than the Covid covers but somehow Anna Wigtour is able to find a new low. Although he is an alleged sex pest, Mario Testino covers made actors and Vogue look good. Can't we find someone to copy his style?
