US Vogue October 1999 : Winona Ryder by Steven Meisel

Oluchi Onweagba (now Onduri), Debra Shaw, Alek Wek and as aforementioned Jacquetta Wheeler are in the couture ed as well.

I really dislike Kate now but that ed was phenomenal :ninja:! I think the mixing in of the hip-hop elements really appealed to me and how it juxtaposed with Paris settings.

^I love seeing Debra Shaw in US Vogue. She is an amazing model.

That's one of my least favorite issues of US Vogue ever:ninja:BUT i do love Kate's editorial. It's just that it takes more than one good editorial for me to love an issue

^You didn't like the article on Winona, i thought it was pretty good. Made me like her.

i love kate's ed. it's so great getting to see all these old eds. Thanks MissMagAddict!

Winona's edit is beautiful, especially the first and last shots. And so awesome seeing Oluchi! Thanks for sharing, Kelly!

My pleasure!
I too am a huge Winona fan - maybe it is a 90s thing? It breaks my heart that she is a bit player now. :flower:
Also agree about Oluchi - so many great models that deserved so much more....

how come there is no Lacroix pieces in couture story?

I can’t stand how achingly beautiful and richly cinematic Annie’s work was. Besides the masterful imagery, there was always a sense of discovery and revelation in her and the AD's narrative to these edits. I just keep going back to them.

Beautiful, richly moody issue. And awful covershot as usual with American Vogue; at least that’s an unwavering consistency LOL

I don't think she was same kind wh*re as Sozzani. She supported her close friends like Karl and Oscar a lot, or those whose work she loved like Galliano etc.
