i don't think keira is a good actress, and her pout bothers me, but i think she is really beautiful. unfortunately i rarely like her in print, i don't know if it's the airbrushing that makes her face looks weird...or maybe she's just not very photogenic, because i actually prefer her candids over her print work... the cover is just awful, bad pose, bad hair (seriously what the hell is that?), cheap setting...and even though i said it bothers me i prefer her pout over that weird facial expression. the only good think about this cover is the balenciaga look but an outfit will never be enough to make a good cover, obviously.
about the eds...i don't like very much "flights of fancy", i know i've only seen 2 pics out of 12 but i'm sure i won't like it better..."2-for-1" is that typical US vogue "funny" ed+typical meisel for US vogue, so it's not really exciting..."on a whim" seems to be a bit more interesting, even though i strongly dislike coco...what i like about "self-reflection" is the styling (love to see christopher kane's looks!) and stam looking more like the old stam...i just think that instead of over-tanning trentini they could cast a black model...? and i don't like the ed as a whole very much... sasha looks fabulous (as usual) in the mcqueen ed though, it's a shame it has only 5 pages...
I completely agree with anyone who thinks that this is the most non creative, and most boring cover for a September issue of American Vogue. I am very tired and bored off my mind of seeing the same old boring actress on the cover. Better yet! a non American actress. I think Ana Wintour along her Conde Nast buddies take it to damn safe with every issue. Where is the real American woman? does Ana Wintour really think this is what Americans look like or aspire to be? Why aren't women who are currently at the forefront of fashion and success on the cover? Why not a colored woman for a change, or someone who isn't just another famous face? I guess Vogue doesn't want to expend their readership to a broader audience, they simply want to keep at the MadisonParkFifthHamptonCentralparkbergdorth Woman level.
I got my issue last night! The content is as usual; I actually bought it for the ads (great for scrapbook.) The only good editorial is Flights of Fancy... Caroline is of course still jumping, but at least this time the jumping is justified and pretty! Coco's ed is boring but she looks beautiful. And I am still traumatized by Daniel Radcliffe's naked form in a 4 pages article. Don't want to see that!
Oh my...only 124 pages
But ads are still part of the "brilliant fall fashion?" no?
Anyway just to know...what designer got the first and last page of the magazine?
i like Steven Klein eds, the colour and the styling is quite different than the usual boring US Vogue. they really need to make a lot of this kind of editorial.
I feel like a creep for saying this- but if you notice during the video from the cover shoot her hair looks a bit less...bald. So clearly they photoshopped it to a very, very sad sad place.
