Please tell me I'm not the only one, looking to escape shopping, spending money on clothes and accessories, and getting away from anything that has to do with clothes?Don't get me wrong I love clothes, but somethimes I feel like I need a break, just a little vacation away from fashion (not talking about all th $$$ saved:)

all you would do when you got back was catch up, defeating the purpose.

Yes, sometimes I take a break. I go through seasons of being inspired and then not very into it all. But I find I don't have to catch up much after the return. I guess fashion changes so quickly that if you miss the latest thing now, don't worry much because the next latest thing is already on its way.

^ I agree. I dont think you'd have to catch up. why buy last season fashions.

^ that's exactly how I feel about anykind of shopping.I also think everything is sooooooooooooooooo over priced, they are nuts! but as long as everyone continues on speding $2,000 on a leather bag that probably cost 200 or less. nothing will change.

I only get this way when I'm actually shopping. I get so frustrated when I go out to purchase something very specific, not a particular brand but for example, a black turtleneck. How far is that to find? For me, at least, pretty difficult. If it's not finding something I want, then it would be the price of a item.

So, I go home incredibly angry after all those hours.

^ Well, I get that way when I've been out shopping and return empty handed, not because I havent seen anything I like, but because all the sizes are too big!! Gorgeous size 5 flats are too big for me... and they are the smallest!!

Oh, the curse of being small :judge:

Definately feel like that. I go through phases where i'm really into fashion and othertimes I'm not. I basically only wear two casual outfits when I'm out and about. Either black l/s Gap crewneck with straight leg jeans and tod's pretzel sandals or same jeans, pink havainas and a navy jcrew cashmere l/s tee over a white tanktop. Either with my Ramona. No muss, no fuss. simple simple simple. Sometimes I just can't be bothered and the trendiness of everything is overwhelming and a bit sickening. I don't want to leave the house in the morning only for what I'm wearing to be out by noon. It's too much. I think the whole industry can be very overwhelming at times. I haven't bought a new item of clothing in months.

i love this thread....

but i'd have to say that if you are trying to get away from fashion, this is probably not the best place to be hanging out...

Here here! Why are decent black turtlenecks so hard to find? Something where the material won't shrink and won't pill or fade terribly after 2 washes. I bought a James Perse one years ago in cream and I'm still kicking myself for not getting it in black too.

well- if you bought a blk cotton t nk years ago..
chances are it would be grey by now...:p

Hahaha^ U r right

Oh yeah. I'm embarassed to admit I'm actually here to catch up on the gossips. My current position is kinda frustrating because what I want is never what I need. For instance I'm currently obsessed with the McQueen Anatomical red Pumas, but my job requires me to dress business professional so I feel pressured to buy the things that offer more practical and frequent wear. I think that's why I just get tired and not look at fashion for awhile. I know I'll dream but I'll get over it....eventually. There is always next season.
