Do you take yourself shopping to reward yourself or cheer yourself up?

There isn't a mood that shopping can't improve! :D

Although when I don't want to spend a lot of money, I buy one or two small things, like candles or loose tea, and it perks me right up! :flower:

I've been noticing that I want to indulge myself more lately. I actually do need stuff and I am having more bad days so I go off looking for things that are missing in my wardrobe. I only do small purchases for cheering up though. A shirt there, a shoe here an odd accessory or two. I'd end up upset if I used feeling crappy as a reason to go on a crazy shopping spree.

Yes, I do. Actually, I had this crazy stressfull day and a lovely cheap T-shirt I bought in ZARA really improved my mood...

mmmm well last thing i thought of again was some belt in this store..looked nice but wasnt worth its price so i just waaalked away(singing am walking away by craig david!!!)

I always shop if I'm feeling low, but I'm trying to quit that habit because it's getting pretty expensive. And I end up with alot of stuff I don't need or use..

is there any other way to cheer yourself up? :ninja: hahaha. because if there is, someone needs to tell me... my wallet has been hurting.

Both.. buying something nice always cheers me up!! I think I should tell me hubby that whenever the CC bills are high- he sould be concerend about my state of mind and well being hahaa...
And what other way to reward yourself but to buy something you want and deserve!!
Shopping cures it all!!!

For me shopping makes me rather stressy..
I always think "oh do i really need this" or, "i could use the money for something else" or, "ill wait til it's on sale".

:D
yes, i'm stingey.

Neither! I just spend my money as soon as I get it.
I managed to old off with my most recent purchase until J Crew sent me a free shipping code, though.

 Oh no! That's like going to the grocery store hungry! I'd come home with reminders of why impulse buying is taboo.

As of late, I've been working a LOT, so whenever I have a day off I always want to go shopping! I find that if I shop in order to cheer myself up, I experience buyer's remorse more than usual haha

I think a good way to combat this is to only buy something you've been eyeing for a while...I find myself in need of retail therapy at times too, and have been known to travel an hour's journey just to buy something I've had on my mind, to cheer myself up :ninja:

Of course...limit yourself to one small purchase!

I never shop as a form of "therapy" or reward---suddenly the impulse is just there (seeing something great) and there are no thoughts running through my head. It's just : "i want" usually followed by: "i need."

this reminds me of the time i went for a follow-up appointment to the doctor's after having been sick. I had about 30 minutes to spare and so went and got myself a gorgeous pair of ysl rive gauche wedge heels :smile:heart:smile: which were on sale as they were a few seasons old. I was obviously beaming because the first thing my dr. said was, "you look happy today. Much better. It (the new trial medication) seems to be working." My mum who was with me was shaking her head and i just wanted to tell him- it's my shoes! :P

I do shop as a pick me up, it feels good to have some new additions to the wardrobe to mix and match with. The next day I always wake up like "ohhh I have something new in my closet to wear!"

I definitely used to shop as a means of escaping reality. I've also done other various unhealthy things (like play computer games obsessively). But recently I've stopped because despite everything it didn't seem to change how I felt. Sometimes it would make things feel better for a little while, but ultimately it didn't solve my problem.

Now instead I like to go for a walk or run and listen to some music and sort of mull out my problems. It works a lot better And my wallet's a lot happier. So am I.
