I work at a boutique across from Valentino & people quite literally point & laugh at their windows. Talked to a few current as well as previous (a friend of mine who was there for a while jumped ship as soon as they heard of Alessandro’s appointment lol) CAs & they both say very little is moving, a few pops here & there but other than that most categories have halted (especially almost everything Men’s).Anyone has intel on how good or bad AM’s collection is doing in stores? I really don’t see any of his creations in my city everyone is still wearing their Rockstuds and Vlogo here

I used to see so many shopping bags (rather large ones too, usually meaning RTW sales) come out of their store & it’s a ghost town draped in curtains lately. A lot of their clients were mature, rich women with old money who “don’t want to wear their mother’s clothing”. Their words not mine.

I love that original white dress from SS 2007 so much, and he dares to style it with a Nacho Libre mask. ffsMy goodness when your clothes start to look dustier and more dated than the actual Valentino pieces from the 1960s and 70s, you've got a problem.
This was horrendous. For a start those big gowns were ridiculously ugly and ostentatious for no other reason than to make a statement on social media. I didn't find them to be beautiful or dreamy in any way whatsoever. And those eerie masks did not help.
Second of all, I was shocked at how un-modern everything looked. Even by his standards, these looks were seriously démodé. Even Maria Grazia and Pierpaolo, when they explored themes like Tudor England or Ancient Rome, managed to create something modern.
I'm sorry but this collection was not it. He was trying way too hard to do something spectacular and groundbreaking (he wants to be the current generations Galliano so bad), but in the end it just flopped. Those medieval clown costumes/gowns are unforgivable.
I'll take Vintage Valentino over whatever this was in a heartbeat!
