Versace S/S 2007 Milan

Wow, amazing show, i like the dresses with the big retro prints, very sixties proportions in those short dresses, i like the black to in Irina...

Hum ... there's much more emphasys (sp?) on construction ... this is are very much architecture-inspired but not loosing Giannis audacity ... Versace IS improving and the accesories as well -yeah, the bags-.
Its modern and hip ... and sexy w/o being trashy ... Im so interested in the NEW Versace customer ...

this is really good, cant wait to see more.

on another note, the daywear so far is lacking a bit

Is is just me or does the dresses fitted in the model with the short blond hair not look right??

on post #38 and #40

This is very different. I adooore the prints.

Designer theaters take center stage

Suzy Menkes International Herald Tribune
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 29, 2006

MILAN
When Versace inaugurates its new theater on Friday, with not only a show but a concert by Prince, it endorses what could be seen as a hot trend among Italian designers: making performance art out of fashion.

Versace's transformation of the old Teatro Excelsior, in the courtyard of the Piazza Vetra in the hip area around Porta Ticinese still has a way to go, before its egg-shaped cupola and 10 years of abandonment is transformed into the sleek building envisaged by the architect Rocco Magnoli. But its future is already projected as an art house for the cultural events and connections that Gianni Versace himself held dear.

The Versace initiative follows other spectacular or dramatic red-velvet curtain projects. First was Giorgio Armani, whose building by Tadao Ando opened in 2001, contains a theater in bared stone, in harmony with the designer's modernist approach to clothing.

Next up on the boards - except that his stage was usually mirrored or covered in white fur - was Tom Ford. During his stint at Gucci with Domenico de Sole the duo signed up for the use of a theater in the Piazza Oberdan by the Hotel Diana, where shows are still held.

Dolce & Gabbana's Metropol theater in their rock-the-baroque style opened for shows last year, proving that Italian designers see themselves as maestros of showmanship.

Such a pretty soft pink used although only one pink piece I care for. I think the color use is great. Very spring feeling. I love the mod feeling some of the pieces have. The swimsuits have nice cuts and the models wearing them look great. The bags are so luxurious looking I want them all! I'd really like to know who the hair stylist was for this show because I've never seen such soft natural looking extensions. My only complaints would be some pieces look a bit copy catish of Proenza Schouler and I don't care for the metallic numbers with all the metal or whatever that is on them. Too harsh looking for me. A dynamite collection overall.

Exactly what i was thinking! i catched a not so obvious mcqueen (last summer) spirit in the short dress stam is wearing (post #1) and in the soft pink dress on post #27

i forgot to mention before, that i think the sunglasses looked "wrong". i think that it would have been a much stronger fashion statement if she (donatella of course) had tried with smaller/thiner glasses... so many years of huge ones is getting a bit overwhelming
