Versace S/S 2024 Milan

What's with multiple designer's newfound love for Marc Jacobs's Louis Vuitton collections circa 2012-2013 all of a sudden this season? This is pretty much Louis Vuitton Spring 2013 and Spring 2012 combined.

Claudia looks great though.

Its like Marc Jacobs took over with his LV collection I immediately had the same feeling..
This collection is everything except Versace to me I don't like the majority of the looks thrown to this runway
In 2023 we still have Ms Jenner opening shows... oh please it should have been Angelina Kendall the star of the season thanks she was placed in the few last looks with the top girls
Some dresses look so cheap and last minutes fitted ( Gigi Hadid and her napkin yellow picnic dress so unflattering )
Imaan saved the show as always she looked mesmerizing WOW WHAT A WOMAN
Loved seeing Claudia return but she deserved better from all the supers Versace comeback to the runway Naomi & Stephanie Seymour had the most respectful iconic and memorable return

On another note: for once can I have the luxury of watching the fashion show with the original soundtrack intended for it? ugh!

YouTube copyright laws say "No". Blumarine originally had Lily Depp's song during the finale, but we didn't get that for the livestream.

Donatella just put the whole store in the show…
Tbh, I found it quite boring. Versace has been around since 1978 and if we want to go ever more back, there’s his work for Callaghan or Complice to look…But somehow, Donatella keeps recycling the same collections from the mid 90’s.

This time, I feel like she fail in modernizing some silhouettes…The tailleurs are very old fashioned.

I loved the set and the color palette but as a collection, it’s quite forgettable.

TBH, the Supermodels stunts does nothing to me anymore coming from Versace. Seeing Claudia at Chanel can be exciting because it hasn’t happened in decades but at Versace, even more considering that she is the best walker, it really felt flat.

To her credit, Marc surely had the Gianni’s collection from 1995 on his moodboard.

Donatella is just going back to her archives, it’s not her fault that people are also copying them lol.

One thing I love about Versace is that they're always true to who they are. The comments implying that it was referencing MJ's LV show made my heart bleed... Claudia was a good coup that only Donatella can afford, I loved that. And now I want to wear those soft colours.

Versace FW '23/24 in LA is one of my absolute favourite recent shows, I love Donatella blurring the divide between good and bad taste, high and low culture, and I'm still mad about the crocodile-effect jackets. This was ... perfectly fine. I appreciate I may be the only person who loves last FW's collection, but this feels like a step backwards,

This collection is for all the Instagram/TikTok girlies to wear and post about it online with a caption like "I'm in my Versace era" etc...

I find the whole collection quite safe and boring. I hope this will sell because I'm sure that she has to hit those KPIs the suits asked her.
Everybody is still riding on the nostalgia train hard so I don't blame her for milking on it. But what I'm disappointed about this is she keeps using the same tired been there, done that collections by Gianni.
She has been here for more than two decades so I don't know why didn't go back to her archives, considering that the 2000s are all the rage right now. And some of her most fabulous collections are in the 2000s (and I'm not talking about the jungle dress). It's a missed opportunity, really.

I really wish we would move on from the nostalgic Versace era because it doesn't do anything for me anymore.

Seems to be a tribute of sorts to Gianni's shows that had that fun take in the 60s and supermodels

there were clothes? I only saw Claudia Schiffer. MY QUEEN :blush:

the collection was a dip in all directions as if Donatella had reinterpreted the archives by memory.
which turned the models into countryside rednecks wearing designer clothes. pastel clothes.

Claudia saved the show and her dress was stunning enough for a closing piece.

Way, way too many looks to churn through. I understand the ease of doing co-ed shows but when they're this length it's hard to get through it all.

The collections is riding the wave of the Barbie Movie success still, which I guess is smart for a sales point of view and from a influencer gifting/grifting perspective. Especially having Claudia close the show, the "model barbie" of her time. Still can't walk to save her life, but at least it is endearing as there were much worse in the show. My main problem with this is the moment you look at it, you know Kors/Capri Holdings are having a huge say in things to have the collections looking the way that they are.

It's also a shame that influencer revenue and traction is still this highly prized because the majority of this is so gawky and juvenile. Seeing models like Imaan, Rianne, Vittoria, Liu, and Julia in this collection is that yes they look great (the best even), but it makes the collection itself seem all the more puerile because of how they carry themselves.

I like that it actually looks lile Gianni not Donnatella. That is what Versace has been missing since Gianni died. I was ok with Versus bc Donna could do her nonsense there. Sadly when that folded we got non stop Donnatella.

Nobody likes you donna. Youre the priscilla presley of fashion. Nobody asked for you.

^ I like her :smilingwtear:..

Womenswear is moderately okay, menswear is disgustingly bland and f*ckboy-ish. Closing model was possessed halfway through her walk.
Seriously what's up with the menswear? do the menswear and womenswear teams talk to each other? are they in the same email chains? are they even in the same building? lol. You have these girls on some 1960s trip looking lovely, and suddenly we're back in, what, 2018 with someone who just got his ssense package?

Anyway, I already forgot the collection but the casting was okay, I just don't understand why kill the momentum towards the finale with Gigi's 'volleyball is my job, fashion is my sport' walk. I have never felt a stronger urge to be a ruthless Russian ballet teacher, jump through my screen and manually bring these shoulder blades together AND DOWN. And why is Imaan always 4th to last or something? she's just.. whoa. Now that's one thing I remember, a black dress that I want just because she can sell anything to me and convince me that it comes with the body and strut lmao.
