Viktor & Rolf F/W 2025.26 Paris

They used to be so good gently twisting such staples as the white shirt, which were both wearable and conceptual - Then much later, after they closed their RTW line, they introduced a great wedding dress collection that consistently offered chic, architectural gowns that could easily make for an evening gown, shown in another color.

With that in mind, I’m truely frustrated to see they returned with a presentation of clothes that fall very much flat in comparison to that. No thanks, this ain‘t it!

So they shuttered their RTW division years ago due to poor sales, went to just couture and now they’re back to doing RTW again… and this is the collection?

I can’t see who this would be for. It’s unnecessary. Get rid of it.

I actually found several of the dresses cute and I would happily own them, but I agree with others this RTW line is quite useless overall

Finally they want to sell too
But will they sell? This collection looks like a sad version of Patou, and it doesn't really generate any sort of anticipation. With the resources of OTB, it's just weird they couldn't produce anything, well, better. Their haute couture is great on its own and I'm not sure if this is the right way to translate it into RTW.

i think they just dont have it in them to develop a v&r rtw language. They work on each collection like a seperate project and this is not good for rtw.

^And then, there was this odd period between F/W 13 and F/W 14 when they tried to create a cohesive RTW language, but all those collections blend into one grey anonymous blob. I don't know, they're talented, but they should focus on couture, and maybe on bridal.
