Viktor & Rolf S/S 10

Million times better than last season and my love for V&R is back!
I don't know what some of you are are talking about, but I see many wearable pieces.

The construction here is so Couture, I'm amazed at how the dresses move yet retain their shape. And the silhouettes! I could go on forever.

Well, here are some wearable pieces. And honestly, this is what makes Paris so special to me. It's theatrical, fun and sometimes ridiculous, but i love it. Designers that show in Paris not only create beautiful clothes, but also play with the fabrics, shapes and volumes. And i appreciate it.

They should have shown on a black runway so you could get that optical illusion at all angles!!

Definitely.

thank GOD for viktor and rolf for bringing to fruition the fashion-for-fashion's-sake aspect of this industry that we first saw at marc jacobs. what better time is there to do something out-of-the-box and spectacular than a troubled time like this. first, interspersed in all of those fantastical museum pieces -- and i love how those who HATE everything commercial in every other collection actually decry these pieces that actually make an actual artistic statement about our times -- they presented some REALLY WEARABLE and realistic FASHION pieces. these are the type of clothes lady gaga will wear with aplomb or will make it onto the back of carrie bradshaw in the next sex and the city flick.

for the girl who found herself at a loss for what to match with the latest marc jacobs collection, this collection presents the perfect compliment. just like i think that miuccia prada and michael kors sat up in a smoke-filled room and hatched those collections, it's clear that marc jacobs and viktor and rolf sat in on the same conference call when they both thought up these theatrical collections.

finally, most of this stuff looks pretty banal compared to the average westwood offering. this guarantees them the press needed to sustain them through this economic morass -- they could easily launch a perfume off the buzz this show will generate.

i wish they did more with the 'illusory' pieces.. very amusing (*_*) Only seems to be three in the whole collection.

I'm not really impressed by the tulle extravaganza... at least Hussein Chalayan knew how to use the fabric wisely and create a beautiful silhouette out of it. In this collection, it seems that the fabric was just placed at random places. On the side of the skirt? To create transparent bouffant sleeves? :yuk:

this is pretty much damn unwearable but sometimes that's OK when the actually designs and imaginations are so off the chart! i never thought i'd say this about a V+R collection... but... i like it!

I find it so hard to like these guys. I HATE how they always try too hard to be "interesting".
This collection is plain old ugly. U.G.L.Y. There is no other word to describe it. Most of the outfits by far are horrible unflattering, even on the models. There is no real concept here.... just shredding really.

It's too silly for me to like.

This collection fascinates me! I can't stop looking at these gorgeous but crazy dresses, especially the ones Kasia, Karlie and Olga are wearing!
It's just an amzing work! I'm mesmerized

It's a cool show in my opinion
I like the clown show idea, the clothes are funny and interesting at the same time.Of course some look is a bit too "ridicolous" but I don't mind since it's V&R,and their purpose is not selling like Gucci.
I also love the fact that Rosin Murphy was there

it must be groundbreaking becuase there are no greys, either you love it or hate it. and i do love it, not all the pieces, but the every single one was interesting in ANY angle, which cannot be said in most cases, specially of this season's shows. what chalayan did was completely different, it didn't had a visual effect as those in the end, which i would have liked to see more, like gius said.
i also don't understand how people say it's unwearable. it is in any case, it's just not to your liking. unwearable are a pair of shoes that make the whole casting fall down, or a corset so tight that makes a girl faint, or a laser-inset dress that won't let you sit down, but i cannot see that happening with these pieces.

I'd love to see somebody wear that blue dress that looks like a magician's dream on the red carpet.

absolutely wonderful !!!! wow what a great season in paris this year !! this collection is simply unexpected and totally crazy ! but the best thing is that it's really glamour and i hope some great gurls will wear it !!

Great collection, love the pieces and great choice of music....

Wednesday cocktailparty @ V&R.... what shall I wear??...

Well I love it. they have been up there as my favourite designers for a long time. Anyone in LDN see their exhibition at the Barbican? Absolutely amazing. They are make fashion into art. Very very clever and so interesting. I agree, they are hardly pret-a-porter most of the time but it's always different and fresh. xxx
