their core goal is to show a vision and creativity and to sell perfumes. The overall collection is balanced, just the right amount of showpieces (I guess thats what you mean with add-ons) and more commercial (?) garments.but telepathic,i wasn't speaking in terms of their early seasons. in fact that's why they continue to leave me feeling this way. there is no depth in what they do anymore to justify these kinds of theatrics. and if you get beneath the exaggerated frills and tulle, you get exactly as they decided they wanted to strive for...commerce. my problem is they continue to employ these antics which i feel are very contradictory to their core goals. because if you take away these add-ons all you have are just these safe pieces. there's no real continuity in it....you ultimately have nothing but a gimmick.
I have never been a big fan of their work for the last ten years, mainly because I miss the depth of their earlier work. The credibility. However, in times like these, I am fully supportive of ANY designer that has the guts to do what they do. Having fun and trying to make an exciting collection AND NOT TAKING THEMSELVES SO BLOODY SERIOUS LIKE EVERYONE ELSE. I totally applaud them for it. Inspiration nowadays is hard to find in fashion. And it takes guts!!!!
You keep on making the same comments every single season about V&R.
If you really wanna go on and on about their core goals (which of course is selling $$$$), just go to the showroom and take a look at the stuff that will end up in the shops ($$$$). But I also think that you should give them a chance, maybe just for the sake of originality and guts.
By the way, how awesome will this look in editorials??!!!
TBH I just hope suzy is a bit mild this season.
