Thanks for the Verushka pics OMIFAN09. I adore her! She's the most interesting model from the 60s-70s, IMO.

The first time I heard about Gia it was when I saw this tv movie about her life (and specially her death) with Angelina Jolie. Though she was million time better looking than Angelina J., I don't understand all the fuss about her neither. But I suppose it was a big change for the time. We got used to rock'n roll model now.

It is a bit off topic but I love her in those pics taken by art photographers too. Not really fashion works but she's astonishing looking like a tiger or a spider, or her body disapearing in the landscapes.

As far as rocknroll/punk rock models with influential style go; First there was Gia, then there was Kate. Both are great in their own right, IMO. But Kate seems to have been far more in control of her life, thankfully. There is still a spark there that they have in common.

Verushka Am Vogue 1968 by Rubartelli (who else...). Luv Verushka, the way she photographed was special. I don't think Rubartelli took the best photos of her, though, best shots of her I've ever seen are by Avedon.

Maybe you're right, the ads are a little more....playful this year than they've been the last 10 years. Good thing too, if you ask me. My fave Dior ad ever March 1980 by Denis Piel (whatever happened to him, the 80s?). Gia even looks a bit like John Galliano himself there Further, a Serge Lutens Dior make-up ad and a scary Lanvin ad where the model looks far too much like Kate Moss....

Its from Vogue, but I scanned it from a book. The original layout was white or tan.
