Grazer Making Vivienne Westwood Pic?

Judging by his spiked do, über-producer Brian Grazer isn't swayed by the fickle winds of fashion. So what was the movie macher behind The DaVinci Code and A Beautiful Mind doing at Bryant Park Sunday?

Sources say the visit, which included a viewing of Diane von Furstenberg's show and a backstage appearance at Naeem Khan's presentation, was research for an upcoming film he is set to produce about flame-haired style icon Vivienne Westwood, the fashion grande dame who, together with Sex Pistols manager Malcolm McLaren, launched the punk look in the 1970s. Westwood's office declined to comment and a rep for Grazer couldn't immediately confirm the project, which isn't listed on IMDB.com yet.

Why can't moviemakers for once wrote a script not based on biography/old film/famous novel? Please, no more of these films. Try being creative for once.

Hollywood should leave Westwood alone. Vivienne does not need them.

Samantha Morton would be great......lets keep our fingers crossed that Sienna Miller does not get the role:yuk: :ninja:

samantha morton definitely! good british actress that can adapt to different roles...plus with more of a preference for the edgy ones, she'd be brilliant.

Someone English definitely , someone new though. As much as I like Samantha Morton I can't see it.

is she the main focus of the film or is it actually about McLaren and the Pistols? I definitely like the suggestions already made. Morton,Swinton,Bonham Carter etc. And you know,Helena,if she coloured her hair the same as she,she could certainly pass for a younger Vivienne.

Sounds very cool! I think helena bonham carter would be very good, plus she wears westwood so much.

I think she's a good actress, just not in that awful tv show....

I agree, Helena Bonham Carter would be amazing in the role, i love her. Oooh i'm so excited, does anybody know when it starts shooting?

A bit off topic... the Sex Pistols are planning a reunion... :woot:

Ageing punk rockers are set to re-form for a special anniversary gig
Never mind the bus pass, here's the Sex Pistols.

The 70s punk legends are planning a special one-off gig to mark the 30th anniversary of their hellraising classic album Never Mind The Bollocks, which will be re-released.

Surviving members Johnny Rotten, Steve Jones, Paul Cook and Glen Matlock will pogo their way to London's Brixton Academy on 8 November.

The Sex Pistols' punk anthem God Save The Queen is also being re-released on 8 October.

Legend is the track, which was banned by radio and TV, was stopped from reaching the No1 spot despite outselling its rivals.

The Pistols hope to go one better second time around.

See the Sex Pistols in this video for God Save The Queen...

Cate Blanchett? Tilda Swinton?

Those were two of my immediate thoughts.

Although oddly, casting for Vivienne Westwood seems to parallel Queen Elizabeth for some reason. I think Helen Mirren might be too old! ^_^
