Vogue Australia June 2016 : Kim Kardashian by Lachlan Bailey

stunning cover, she looks better natural than overly madeup. Those wpmdering what she's doing on a fashion magazine should know that this is 2016 and reality stars have more influence than many actresses and musicians

Sure but what new thing does she have to talk about that people outside of America give a **** about?

She looks different which is good, however I dislike the light colour of the Vogue masthead, would've preferred a black or darker colour.

As a side, I wonder how Vogue Australia survives? Is it profitable? Their budget must be huge each month with many international celebs and models on the cover frequently in a market that is hugely competitive with diminishing readership.

From their 2016 Media Kit it states they produce all their covers and have around 10% syndicated content so NewsLifeMedia (publisher) is investing heavily.

I know they are the only fashion magazine in Australia to see their circulation increase each year; they lead in readership numbers; and their digital offering including social media is very strong. So from a brand's standpoint Vogue is really well positioned, more so than Bazaar, Elle or Marie Claire.

As such, they have been able to leverage their brand and reach out to advertisers to underwrite a number of projects, for example, Destination NSW for the April Mario Testino issue. Right now, they are shooting Crown Princess Mary of Denmark (by Testino) for their August issue and from what I hear Ole Lyngaard (and I think George Jensen too) have been significant sponsors of the project.

Cheers for that, I always wondered how it was working out, post-Clements and if McCann's ambitious new direction/team had paid off... and obviously it has!

Kim looks fantastic in these images. She should emulate this look in her real life. So much better and takes years off of her.

I am SO GODDAMN SICK OF HER.

But I have to admit that she looks incredibly beautiful on the cover. KILLS me to admit that. Ugh.

havent been noticing Kim on any covers except those papparazzi ones at the newstands, so to me this is still fresh and i ll say I love this, and i am not even close to liking her at all.

I don't like it very much, but it's the best she's ever looked in a magazine. She should go natural more often, she's stunning when she's not so made up.

I like this cover - it is fresh & beautiful but when will The Kardashian's 5 minutes of fame be over!?!

Never... When Kim is old.., Kylie will be Kim's age and North will be the new Kylie. So better get used to it. Unlike Paris Hilton, the Kardashians know that the secret to longevity is replication. They're the new royal family.

^Thank you. I´m looking forward to Greg Kadel´s editorial, is this the first time he shoots for them?

You're welcome. Kadel first shot for Vogue Australia for the September 2009 issue featuring Abbey Lee and Catherine McNeil. His most recent contributions have been for the March 2016 and October 2015 issues.

I wonder if he will have done their July cover. The Splash editorial was shot on location in St Barth's back in February, surely they wouldn't waste that opportunity just for a single spread...?

Hhhm, lots of Bryan Adams in this issue! I've not developed a proper opinion on his photography, so not sure what to expect. Interested to read Daphne Guinness feature regarding Isabella Blow's wardrobe!

Thanks for the review, Al92 :pink:!
