Vogue Australia June 2023 : Rita Ora & Taika Waititi by Robbie Fimmano

That woman is known for doing nothing lol it baffles me that she gets so many covers, invited to so many events and yet she's like so bland and boring.
That cover is bland level 3000 LOL gosh how howwwww can Vogue Australia produce this versus what they used to do back in 2007.

Sorry, but what? She has inumerous top singles in the UK charts and WW
Unfortunatelly to a women stay relevant in this industry you have to force yourself in various ways, like mag covers and ad promotions, otherwise you be called a 'irrelevant flop'

The last single she released didn't chart in the UK and the one before that missed the Top 50 so there has been a huge decline in her musical success in her main market over the past few years despite endless promotion. Her PR company is fantastic and anyone would believe she is a megastar in the UK when her last album didn't even chart top 10

God, Christine is really running down her little black book and giving all her mates covers? Fashion people can be so self-referential sometimes, obviously an extension of the sort of egocentric behaviour that's almost encouraged. When they're pregnant they only want to shoot mums, when they're single they want to shoot single girls, when they're dating film directors as in Christine's case they only want to shoot gorgeous women dating film directors.
I've seen better couple reveal images on Instagram.

Forgettable cover, not Vogue-worthy. And I don't even think the average Australian Vogue reader would know the director like that.

I'll be leafing through her debut issue as it only just landed here. Not expecting to be bowled over to be honest.

Hope they last though cause this will be awkward.

If it doesn't last, I imagine it will have been a wild ride that burned itself out.

Mark Seliger, for Vanity Fair's Oscars After-Party portfolio, has taken some nice pictures of the couple.

Looking at various editorial images of them, they seem to have a formula, where he looks away as if deep in thought, while she's always working hard to be ON, like there's a camera in every corner.

Rita is Kim's friend and both are wearing Fendi on the cover... Needless to say, it was a paid cover!

Rita Ora is a Kris Jenner level hustler. Good for her lol. I actually like this photo, too. The composition is strong, it's a lovely couples portrait. I wish they'd either gone more natural with Rita in terms of hair and makeup or pushed it further in the other direction with a more glamourous look.

Anyone with that PR & agents deserve the cover for all the pushing they do....of course i would prefer a model cover but they both look good...I'll take this gladly before any Kardashian/jenner covers.

It's funny how many self-proclaimed feminists are here and then at the first chance they trash a woman.

FYI at the momento you manage yourself to be aware always under the public eye you became relevant. Influential not sure and she didn't do it by scandals...and yes not all her music was a "big success" but telling someone to stop trying because you are not in the top 10 is a little sad and miserable with a hint of a bully.

And so what if it's a paid cover?...magazine learn to survive in the actual era with paid covers, advertorials, etc and i don't think this will change....It is needed two to tango.

And i'm not a fan it's just annoyed with such hypocrisy i see around here. But there is freedom of speech right? lol...

PS. it's true he should have been styled on the same level of her...

And usually its the same kind of people who love to call others this or that phobic lol

Whatever. This woman is unable of producing anything remotely interesting.

I remember a time in her career when she was so desperate that she'd turn up to the opening of an envelope. She also realised at some point that copying Rihanna wasn't going to be sustainable and fell back onto her connections which gave her access to fashion which gave her further access to magazines that ultimately turned her into a style star. At some point she was even one of Karl's muses despite having a failed music career.

So yes, a fine example of successful PR. Fool's gold. People have always questioned her relevance, on here at least

People are inherently hypocritical, because it's part of being human. No-one can exist without contradicting themselves to a degree, and holding people to impossible standards on every single thing in life is an exercise in futility. You can try, but it's best to start with yourself.

When it comes to commentary about magazines, we'll see this in action - people will defend their favourites, but a Kardashian is fair game for criticism. A person can point out a feminist issue, but perhaps think nothing of calling someone a Karen. Is it a man's place to tell a woman what she can or can't say? And so on. We could be here all night and day, falling out with each other.

My view is - the place is moderated, so if you see something egregious, tell them. Everything else - even the opinions you disagree with - is part of getting a varied diet, mentally, because so much of the internet will algorithmically force-feed you more of what you already think, which is the worst thing for learning tolerance of differences.

Hhhmmm, I once landed myself in a hot debate while making small talk at a party about Edward Enninful (I was quite shocked to find out how many fans he has outside fashion!), and was labelled hypocritical to my face for wanting a woman in charge of UK Vogue when I fell for the trick question of why it's ok for men to style womenswear? Of course it's not the same and the person couldn't understand what I meant because to do so you'd have to understand the core concept of a women's magazine and what UK Vogue was and is.

Anyway, I suppose that might be a bit hypocritical.

Power Couple? I Dont htink so.... Rita didnt make great song, lately

The commoners love Edward. He’s branded himself as the “people’s fashion editor” in an impressively very short time. And having taken full advantage of the phenomenon that is the pro-Black movement in the last couple of years, have pushed his agendas to such dominance for all Vogues, that people don’t even see/care to resist, let alone call out his hypocrisy and bias. But then again, fashion people are not the brightest individuals, and when we get to the commoners, the casual fashion fan… well, sheep comes to mind.

Rita is… Rita. She’s like Bella: No one particularly interesting nor particularly talented. Admittedly pretty women whom have imprinted their way into fashion where the casual fashion follower/sheep will just accept them as fashion royalty. Eh. At least the covershot is decently executed, composited and laid out… Not the most original since it’s been seen before countless times in some Ralph Lauren to Banana Republic campaign select. But still good enough, And that’s more than Vogues are capable of these days.

gosh how howwwww can Vogue Australia produce this versus what they used to do back in 2007.

That's applicable to every single Vogue out there in 2023, without sounding hyperbolic.
