It leaves me cold? The layout still look amateur

The image is great but that layout still looks amateurish.

She's gorgeous in the first cover— maybe not the strongest composition, but at least they’ve styled her without the big hair.

I don’t understand the 90s-Vanity Fair layout for that cover— complete with the awful solid drop-shadow on the main coverline. I much preferred their copping late-80s art direction by Fabien Baron for Interview Magazine. I guess that was too design-y and they wanted to dumb down for the masses... like Anna’s Vogue?

Shot by Nicole Bentley!

Now, while the layout irks me I must say the re-design inside is absolutely superb. It's now a squarer format, and the detail and composition of each page, though stripped back and minimal, is arresting and flows seamlessly. Quite akin to a coffee table book which was very much the idea that Edwina (EIC) had in mind.

I was prepared to be disappointed and indeed I am... hate this styling for October, the layout is so amateur, her hair is a mess :(

Amateurish layout aside, Lorde looks great. It's been said before, she truly does photograph like a model. Really beautiful. Her new album is incredible!

I really like this cover. It's perfect for Fall.

 Love the shade, and agreed. The first thing I thought was nice, but why bring out a cover like this for spring? It has just started getting warm. However, it would be perfect for autumn!

What's the idea to sell a fur coat for spring? It's actually a beautiful cover, but her hair could be better styled.
So glad to see Nicole Bentley's name here, she's far too underused for VA! The result imo is much better than anything they've done over the past few months. Mind you, the last good cover was Teresa Palmer's one.

As for Lorde, wasn't a big fan to begin with and the first video of this new album was absolutely cringe-worthy, so I've lost interest in her. She does make sense for them, and it's nice to see Edwina giving her a repeat cover.

I wish the art direction didn't look so sparse. The UK Marie Claire-fonts on the left is fine, they just need to get a different font for her name.

Why so many fall pieces?! was this meant to be released earlier or what...?

I thought this one is a nice and finally a season appropriate cover..until I remember that it's spring in Aussie lol. She looks great tho

Really nice edit, that stare is everything. The layout for the cover looks like the work of a lazy graphic design student, too much empty space and the way her name's not centered kills me.

The Giedre shoot is sublime but I wish they would stop using Nicole Bentley/Will Davidson. Always the same, looking like something from Glamour. So boring.
