Vogue Australia October 2019 : Hailey Bieber by Lachlan Bailey

There's something about her that annoys me.

Part of me thinks she's using her marriage for relevance. I'm instantly annoyed whenever I read "Hailey Beiber." Or maybe its because she condoned her husband's half-***ed apology when caught being a sexist. I mean its wrong to hold a woman accountable for her man's actions.. but to condone it? Complicity. I hear Kim Kardashian saying Amen somewhere.

You can't forever bank on your marriage sis. Make sure you back it up with good modelling skills, else be perpetually irrelevant when a new hot commodity arises.

She looks sleepy here. Its not selling me anything. Its not inviting. The styling is terrible. The hair is terrible.

Vogue Australia continues to go downhill. Original content? Yes. Creative? No.

That art direction is vile. The change in font width was a choice.

Trust me, the only legacy of the incumbent editor is changing the size. Her tenure will be remembered for that. Just like Farneti

Why is she everywhere lately? That hair would not have worked on anyone really, but on her it just furthers on the already tacky vibe which surrounds her. Like everything else, and for a change it's a throwback McCann cover - countryside, easy glamour, and understated art direction.

That coat for summer though? Also 'Hedi Slimane's EXTREME Celine'....why NY Times just dragged his wares the other day for being basic and 'patrician.'

I'm already getting annoyed to see her everywhere these days. She has featured in four Vogue editions in the last month alone.. Kind of ironic as well, how Vogue is all about "feminism" and "independent women", yet only feature her in pieces that are related to her husband.

She looks nice and the colours are beautiful.

That coat for summer though?

it´s springtime and sometimes it´s still coldish in places. I guess it´s a nice way to be "international" but the bare shoulder gives you a hint of the upcoming summer

I think Hailey is the opposite of Kendall: the first one is good at photo shoots (or at least she tries to) but does not have any model look, the second one could be model material but she is as cold as a stone in front of the camera.

In the end the cover is not bad, the colors are beautiful.

Love the colours! A very beautiful cover and she looks good. I don't mind her recent offerings in all the Vogues, I think she's gotten much better at modelling.

My eyes opened wide when I came across this earlier! An absolutely GORGEOUS cover, love every single element it has to offer (including Hailey). This feels like the early McCann era where the magazine was on point and effortlessly beautiful - and this cover is just that!

Wow, easily her best cover, she never looked more present, or beautiful. And this is coming from someone who has NO interest in her modeling career! It has to be Lachlan he really has a talent for making women, especially famous women, more open.

I saw editorial.. and I wonder May anyone just forbid it? She doesn’t look like farmer’s daughter, she looks like cheap insta queen dressed in lumberjack boyfriends clothes. And this corny contrast of her girlish fragility and rude peasant rags this is such a rubber stamp. My eyes rolled so hard I nearly saw my brain.

In this tepid era of banal PC-pandering and white knighting to hustle Vogues like they’re Time Magazine (and about the same level of design creativity as a Time Magazine) to the Insta population (as if they buy magazines LOL), it’s actually great to see some signs of hedonistic trashiness. And although none of these Instagirls can deliver, the ultimate trailer trash’s wife has been delivering lately.

She sort of resembles Carolyn Bassette at times; others, she bears a striking resemblance to Kirsty Hume— and she can even look the part of a middle-age housewife like she did on the cover of Anna’s Vogue. That’s some solid modelling (likely on the part of the photographer and not due to her “talent”). But still, she has that brand of masculine, athletic beauty that can be harsh when a photographer doesn’t know how to shoot her. So far, she’s been photographed quite impressively. I’ll gladly take her over any of the Jenners or Bella.

I still weep a little that people are interested in someone like her… but this covershot is good; Very late-80s Guess campaign. If only they gave her fuller, thicker hair like VP would, and not this timid mousy mop. If you’re going to be Mrs.Trashy, then go big and go all the way like David LaChapelle did.

Couldn't care less about her but I really love Lachlan

I feel like I've seen this editorial four times in the past month, as if someone's decided her current niche is an outdoors editorial - and always with the same beauty styling - and now they're going to churn out similar images for every magazine.

God-awful editorial! 'Cali girl in the outback'...the dark roots, the false tan, the ridiculous poses (clearly not someone who spends a lot of time in nature), and it's actually not working because there always used to be a certain poise and wholesomeness about these Vogue Australia's staple edits. This time it's not only missing, but the entire edit along with styling and photography is just.... 'off.'

She looks stunning though it feels like VA does the same type of shoot in the woods all the time

Seriously, what the hell, can the fashion world stop wasting these outdoor editorials on her. Like Benn said, it's not like we're buying her as a natural beauty whose element is the outdoors.
