Vogue Australia September 2014 : Freja Beha Erichsen by Inez & Vinoodh

Although the cover story is different from the cover, I love both!

The Styling in the cover story is great but the story in itself is so flat and boring for me, it looks like they just took her down to a carpet market store and photographed her there.

Gorgeous cover and Freja's looking effortlessly beautiful. The edit, on the other hand, not sure I get it.

as much as i love HER i'm not really feeling THAT cover.

Freja has such a unique, soft yet chiseled face which at this angle completely does not do her justice. The unflattering angle coupled with the overly voluminous hair just crowds out her forehead and squishes her expressive eyes, which to me reads like she's peeved. The overall image feels unbalanced and top-heavy.

i do appreciate the various textures and sheens in the LV garments.

the wildly different editorial w Freja is OK just a bit of an eyesore with the poorly executed pattern on pattern effect. I've seen these pattern focused editorials handled much more effectively with subtlety and razor sharp visual wit which did not cause an eyestrain with pattern overload. Freja still manages to looks beautiful however.

the other eds have been done a thousand times which doesn't automatically make me dislike them but there's still nothing special there either.

Drake is so hit-or-miss, and here to me she is super unattractive, her puckered mouth is really off-putting.

The Chelsea girl theme has been done to death, and I'm never really impressed by Sebastian Kim.

Vogue Australia strayed from their usual course this month, and gave us a super generic (could be any country's Vogue) issue in return, really unhappy with this, especially for September.

Don't worry HeatherAnne, you still have Catherine McNeil by Gilles Bensimon to look forward to - I think its either the October or November issue!

^Not for the moment :/ But if I found it I'll post here of course :)

Drake's got some strong shots in her edit. If only they stayed with the grey backdrop for Freja's shoot, a perhaps it would have been better.

Does Feurer have an edit on this issue? perhaps he can save the day...

Amanda looks great in her ed but that's really the only editorial I like in here. Seems kind of lack luster over all, especially for a September issue.
