Vogue Brazil February 2020 by Zee Nunes

The second cover looks very amateur.

The rest look pretty ok.

The first girl reminds me both Stella Tennant and Saskia de Brauw.

So Jamily is Brazilian!?!

These covers are certainly interesting but unfortunately, Jamily's is the only one who worked. Can't stand the rest. It's too much. I was looking forward to Kerolyn's because she's been everywhere lately.

I wonder how Brazilians respond to this type of 'exotic Amazon' styling? I dunno, it seems so excessive - as if it were concocted from an outsider's perspective, like someone else interpretation of what Brazil is about. I know some countries don't like their traditional creative influences being sold to themselves....

Brazilians do not have a problem with that at all. On the contrary, we are usually very proud and pleased when our own creative influences are being explored by our country's creatives.

The covers are in line with Vogue Brasil's Carnival Ball this year: A night of surreal tropicalism in celebration of Rio de Janeiro".

Thanks! I remember when I was in South Africa I saw the same stereotypically 'African' type of imagery and it was actually aimed at locals. And even in the UK the girl wearing a trench coat next to a red callbox is as popular with foreigners as it is with locals. But I know the Japanese doesn't really care for that sort of thing.

As a brazilian, I'm so happy to see girls like Kerolyn getting notoriety. Don't get me wrong... I love Raquel, Caroline, Gisele... but those girls represents a miniority in our country. We are much more diversity than this.
Before I was hopeful about the success of ellen rosa but she disappeared a little, so I bet a lot on Kerolyn's future

The debates about Amazon have intensified in recent months. Lately, the brazilians have cared much more when it comes to culture. It's necessary. With the Bolsonaro's election, everything became more difficult. The Cabinet of Culture becomes a 'Culture Secretary' and everything about art has the risk of censorship. But, to be honest, nobody really cares about Vogue Brazil.

Kerolyn's cover is the best.....and yes brazilians are proud of themselves and their culture...

So these covers along with the heavy push for the carnival is probably a way for Vogue Brazil to jump in on the mood that's sweeping in the country? Crafty, but genius of them.

Karma for the explanation! :flower:

They could have stuck with 1 cover, it would have made more impact. Nothing spectacular. The execution could have been better.

Horrible covers and possible stupid content again and again. How can you believe in a magazine with almost zero written content and ugly editoriais month after month? Pure Trash. Ok, bye

This magazine is a joke

Am a sucker for the rich tropical esthetic but something about all these covers just feels very flat. There's something missing maybe its the models that didnt deliver or the angles
