    What’s happening with Vogue China.

This looks like an editorial shot rather than a cover shot.

    Tragic. Pretentious.

Backdrop is the only thing here that is not horrible.

What is happening is that everyone wants a slice of VU's pie. It's no longer cool to copy VI, it's all about Vogue Ukraine, who oddly enough etched an aesthetic for themselves in a short span.
I'm a big fan of minimal coverlines because the idea is to let the image shine. Also it looks much cooler on a coffee table. :pink:
But maybe these sort of covers should be left to editions with heavy visual chops.

I liked last month's issue so much that I paid the steep UK price for once instead of waiting until I get my issues in bulk. It was cool without trying too hard. This time hard everything screams desperation to be in with the cool squad - photographer, model, styling. Maybe Daniela Paudice chose the cover shot.

Not the most exciting cover but Marte can do no wrong in my eyes! Stunning.

It's a trying too hard cover...

So happy for Marte, she's perfect for me! HOWEVER, this looks like a supplement cover for me.

Agreed. Nicely done VOGUE China! Better than the usual ironic, millennial geared tumblr barf the existing zines churns outs these days. Enjoying this youthful, sophisticated nod to mod meets retro prairie chic. A well done full body shot which shows the entire ensemble is hard to come by.

There's actually a conscious nod to design, balancing typography, color, and pattern. This could have gone horribly wrong with the busy patchwork dress and striped tights but this was tastefully executed. I would have moved the model's head in between the O and G but otherwise it works for me. I like how the model's pose moves the eye from the logo then invites the viewer into opening the magazine.

    The Eye Does Indeed Travel!

I like it. Simple as that.
The Ed and cover also has a vintage vibe can't complain.

I love both the cover and the editorial. Gosh, Marte really is underrated, isn't she? Her poses were dynamic without coming across as forced and she makes even the most unflattering dress (like the Dior(?) dress on the cover) desirable. The soft palette works exquisitely well against the high-octane colors of the clothes.
