Vogue China October 2009 : Natasha Poly by Patrick Demarchelier

Great to finally see Natasha on the cover of Chinese Vogue. She looks very good.

I guess i have a good explanation for this FULL RED cover. This october is going to be China's 60 years anniversary, as you all know, RED represents JOY and happiness to Chinese. so the use of red should be for celebrating the anniversary :flower:

I actually love seeing the red, but not natasha there, she looks kind of awkward there.

When I think of "red" and "China", "joy" isn't the first word that comes to my mind, but maybe it's just me... Anyway good for Natasha, though I'm waiting for a good scan of the cover since it doesn't look that great as a preview

She looks beautiful, that's the way i like to see Natasha. She reminds me a young her on that cover... can't wait to see it better.

Too much red honestly...but it's not as boring as I expected. Is it Alberta Ferretti that she's wearing, I can't recognize it?

I was about to say something about the theme of this issue, but I'll stick to saying that red is a lovely colour.

Oh yes, I'd have many things to say about that too. But I'll write only that I find it very weird for a fashion magazine to celebrate something like that. And speaking about the cover, I don't like it at all

according to the cover, it is Prada. It is a made-to-order dress from Miuccia Prada with the theme of Chinese inspirations.

i think red is a colour that symbolises good luck and prosperity etc. for the chinese... for weddings, the colour is red...for celebratory occassions, like chinese new year, the colour is red...and then you have red packets...the list goes on...red is perceived as a very lucky colour and is the one that is looked upon most favourable :flower: good observation and linkage agnelso

good for natasha, but i really don't like this cover, just too red for me.

I like the red...
I know, it's that red wine shade.
and Natasha looks gorgeous.. that polished, clean look suits her the best.
Can't wait for the contents, I can't think of a vogue right now that's as rich and relevant as Vogue China.

The red backround is a bit too much but I like the theme of the cover.

I like the concept of red, but I think they should have gone with different shades either for the dress or background so each stands out a little more.

And yes, in China, red represents luck rather than that of happiness or joy.

Can't wait to see HQ. It's getting harder and harder to find Vogue China in the UK though.

Oh my goodness! I love it, but I love anything with Natasha on it so...

exactly.
now ignoring any meaning the red could have, the picture itself is nice, i think i'll like it more after seeing in HQ.

What a terrible cover! Her expression looks so silly.

I'm all for Natasha having covers. But I'm not so sure on this cover for her.
I kinda dislike the red overload. But as always Natasha looks gorgeous none the less.
