It's not a bad cover though. At least you can tell it's Madonna.

Wow, how random! Why is she getting all these big covers? New album? I find this cover more tolerable and less offensive than Steven Klein's VI one.

If I was a magazine editor I would be wary to work with Luigi & Iango. They have no qualms to shoot the same subject in a similar way for another magazine. But I guess it's no mystery why Madonna love them this much - both share a crazy obsession for retouched images.

I absolutely love these covers. This is the first Madonna cover that I absolutely adore after a very very very long time. Such stunning covers. The second cover is obviously what I'll get.

I agree with you Benn! in this day and age where exclusivity of cover models is gone, all you have left is your unique take on the cover subject.. and that's even being taken now. The same woman. The same makeup. Same setting. Different magazines. I would've thought this were a reprint from HB.

However, this further proves that Vogue Germany's layout is totally not flexible. Instead of using a huge budget for photographers, hire a decent one and invest in your art direction. Just a friendly advice.

Each one of these covers is incredible! Very Erotica / Dita Parlo. She's really serving it. Can't wait to see what the editorial looks like.
As a Madonna fan I'm so glad she's snatching all of these major covers right now. She really seems to be interested in fashion again, and I'm here for it.

To the whiners:

She's Madonna. She can do as many random covers as she wants, without having anything to promote other than herself. Legends can do that.

She is however about to start work on her next film, as well as launch her skin care line in North America, so this is pretty savvy pre promotion.

Of course not. This is an original shoot for VG!! They got paid separate, and it's also down to Madonna she uses same stylist, make-up.etc people. It's up to magazines to demand something different, but they most likely hire them to get the same. State of Fashion now!

Well, what a sad state of affairs then! So when you book Madonna for your cover she not only comes in steamrolling with her photographer choice, but also stylist and make-up artist in tow? British and American Vogue, as it is, is better off without her, thank God!

i'm loving seeing Madonna on all these covers, the kind of demands she makes to these mags is seriously impressive, proving time and time again she calls the shots in every aspect of her career.
Photoshopped of course, but less ridiculous than the recent newsstand Bazaar cover, which looked more like a digital rendering of Madge than a photograph.

Unrelated note, i didn't realise German Vogue was 7 Euros? i always thought aussie mags were expensive but 7 Euros? isn't Vogue Italia only 5?
