So I guess Vogue Germany will be celebrating their 40th anniversary the whole year? Hopefully for March we'll get a bevy of German fashion models on the cover, because at this rate the celebrations are in dire need of some livening up!

Vogue Germany is in such an odd space right now. The cover editorial, I mean it's as ''cute' and corny as it can get because it's Lubomirski after all, but it's in direct contrast to the rest of the content. It really does look like Arp is trying to court the Brigitte reader.

Anyway, the cover edit is not for me. And some may wonder why I'm so against it when I happen to admire UK Harper's or US Vogue, but those two magazines apply a degree of authenticity to the way they create their content. They know who and what they are. This cover and edit is fraudulent. From the Touched by an Angel haze, the near absence of actual fashion styling, to the strategic ball and tennis racket (just in case we're at a loss as to who this nice looking couple is), to the 'Royal' photographer shooting it. Very odd. The irony is that if the couple cover and edit never happened, this may have been one of the strongest and cohesive issues of Vogue Germany! The edit with Kerber is simple, yet stylish and works better. The rest of the edits all have a unique twist to them. And even though Arp chose to reprint a shape edit with Adriana/Joan etc from US Vogue (April 2015??????), it still worked visually. So I can only assume that the Schweinsteiger couple cover was done to appease all those people who must've swarmed to get Helene Fischer cover last month.

"Game Changer" and "Jump & Run" look really good. The covers don't even deserve my opinion.
