Vogue Germany October 2021 : Amber Valletta & Family by Sean Thomas

A lot of reprints in this one...

Wildfang, by Mikael Jansson
Hülle und Fülle, by Annie Leibovitz
Zwei-Seen-Haus, by Simon Watson (an article about Edie Campbell's home from British Vogue's October issue)
Down To Earth, by Dan Martensen

So the global mess is fully settling in with the new issues. I hate it, it's terrible and it needs to stop.

Anyway, my favorite thing in the entire issue is, ironically, another reprint. An interview with Claudia Schiffer it seems, I can't quite understand it, but I always enjoy seeing vintage prints in HQ and this is a nice selection of images featuring the original supermodels.

The next time I hope to see reprints of Meisel eds for British Vogue, the rest is so awful.

Claudia is curating her first exhibition "Captivate! Fashion Photography from the 90's" in Dusseldorf with photographs from Newton, Ritts, Lindbergh...Lots of supers photographs of course...

Who buys Vogue to look at a happy family portrait?

This is reprint from Vogue Korea September 2020 issue

Given the fact Claudia Schiffer just opened a fashion photography exhibition in Germany, I have half-expected to see Claudia on the cover but I won't complain over the sight of Amber Valletta. It's neither the finest moment of Amber or Vogue Germany but I somehow don't loathe it.

Ah, yes, yet another could-be-Zoe-Ghertner-could-be-Jamie-Hawkesworth-could-be-Drew-Vickers-could-be-Theo-Wenner-could-be-Colin-Dodgson editorial.

LOL. Do you work at Art Partner?
Drew Vickers and Theo Wenner suck big time and Zoe Ghertner seems to be running out of steam...

Eh, boring. The only time I liked seeing a family themed cover was Natasha Poly with her daughter on the cover of Vogue Paris. That was stellar!

I didn't know Amber's man was fine like that... wouldn't mind seeing more of him inside lol But these family album type editorials are so tired at this point. No one cares to see it! Amber does look beautiful, though.
Another good instance of Vogue Paris getting family portraits right was the Natalia and Neva cover ^_^.

Interesting how Amber's son has landed his second Vogue cover, in neither case as a model, but strictly as Amber's son.
