Vogue Greece September 2022 : Christopher Papakaliatis & Sara Grace Wallerstedt

Well, unexpected and quite random, but the first cover is in good taste and has a nice vibe.

10 years ago the 2nd cover would've been a mere VI editorial outtake. I like the dress she's wearing.
Overall very meh but I suppose it's decent enough. We've seen these country sceneries in 1001 different ways.

I've no idea who the guy is. Is he big enough for a Vogue cover?

Precisely that. Not that it's neccessarily bad, I like the photo, the aesthetic and the dress on Sara is indeed beautiful but overall it looks like an outtake. As if they forgot to shoot a cover and had to settle on an editorial image to use instead. The editors simply don't know how to do a proper fashion cover anymore, it's so sad.
In comparison to Vogue Italia, there's a very similar cover of Sophie Dahl seated with a man in the background. That's how it's supposed to look. Some thought should be put into selection and the making of a cover.

But by today's standard I guess it's as good as it gets. Reminds me of those past editorials from US Vogue when they used to shoot male celebrities with models in a cinematic setting. Good times.

I’m crazy for the second cover, it’s like they’re trying to tell a story and we as the audience decide what the story is about. I especially love Sara’s expression here, there’s so much uncertainty or doubt. Loving it!

Except those Annie shots were enormously, spectacularly cinematic. This... Lifetime Channel sap.

Greece seems to be a publication that alternates between a professional creative team for one issue, while another issue-- like this one, is led by a single pro mentoring student interns.

There's a big disconnect here. The images don't necessarily portray the concept they were after.

I like the first though the question mark makes it awkward. The second would look nice as part of the ed.

He is the photographer of the cover story.

He has neither the looks nor the talent for a Vogue cover. Unless he’s terribly famous, it seems absurd to me that he was allowed to insert himself into this.

The two covers do zilch for me, find both nondescript, bland and rather uneventful for a month like September. A shame because Vogue Greece had my undivided attention with those Luna Bijl and Edita Vilkeviciute covers.

Absurd AND tacky.

But then again I suppose it's on brand for a magazine like Vogue Greece which always seemed to like a rich person's passion project. At least to me.

Now i found, that male model reminds me of Roger Federer :)

I like both covers...and i like the question mark....the guy is cute...
