We knew this was coming, they have been teasing it for a while.

That's why the arrival of these cover shots is like seeing something from two months ago that you thought was over and done, but no, it's still hanging around. And once you get 'the joke', what's left to give?

Because it's not shaping up to be much of an interview, call that an alternative persona? David Bowie's sitting at home, with his Labyrinth wig on, shaking his head at this.

I'm going to invent one - Joe Cauldron. He also works in a garage, but this will not be the first time he's been in contact with someone who takes photographs for a living, because he's been arrested twice for petty crime. His ambition for 2011 is that his workshop will finally receive a copy of the Pirelli calendar, but once he gets it, he'll be in for a bit of shock when he sees what passes in some places for exciting creative content these days. In his mind, he's still living in 1985, you see. Although his excuse is that he was actually alive in '85, so it's proper nostalgia, rather than some tepid piss-take of stuff that happened before he was born.
