I always LOL at the people when they say negative things about the cover and blame Steven Meisel and when the editorial is posted boom! they become kitty cats and adore the photos. How fascinating...

^ A cover and an editorial shot can't be compared IMO. Some great pics make really bad covers, so it's not unusual for me to hate a cover and love the editorial it is from, and vice versa

This has happened so many times in the past that when I see a cover I really like I try not to get too excited about the editorial as often they are rubbish and vice versa.

There's a lack of energy, although Amber is pulling for a eye-tension! Her face(makeup and hair included) carries of the cover. Meisel could have done something different with the angle or bodypositioning. I just believe he made her head look huge which probably was the intention since the clothes alone, can't carry on a cover like this.
