Vogue Italia August 2012 : Jamie Bochert by Steven Meisel

It's quite surprising how many Vogue Italia covers Jamie is capable of landing, would I assume correctly if this is her 3rd?

I think it's quite a good cover, I wish they just went for someone pretty and someone who fits the soft mood. Jamie only fits the horror mood.

I am really bothered by the composition of the image used for the cover, more than anything else. The chair on the right hand side creates a distance and diminishes any effect the image could have on the viewer, for me. I'm not sure if such a picture is complex, or just too complicated for a cover shot-it's just so...jarring.

I am also not sure about the sepia tone of the picture. And poor kitty, it looks like it's in pain. :(

I quite like this, the set, the styling although I am over seeing Jamie Bochert, the girl needs to sort her hair out, she constantly looks like she's just got out of bed and it ain't pretty.

To me the setting has a Truman Capote's Breakfast at Tiffany's appeal to it, which I adore, This isn't as bad as people are making out, I do like the variation in Meisel's work, he isn't a one trick pony, sometimes it doesn't work what he's attempting but I admire him for taking risks.

what happened to VI? the only good cover this year is from the July issue. UGHHHH

my eyes hurt every time i see this cover (no offense)

Even though I absolutely loathe Jamie, the cinematic mood of the cover left me interested for more. There's something noire and moody about it, it's quite captivating. I just hope it's not OG.

There's really something intriguing about this one. I like the mood. Although Jamie's face is a bit distracting. Her face here just looks too manly. Hopefully the main editorial won't be an OG.

I love it when people say "Meisel is back!" and then they get disappointed  I'm sorry but that's a fact. In my opinion, he's never been running out of ideas, since he's always doing the same, which isn't necessarily bad as long as I find his work consistent.
I'm quite surprised to see her. The shot itself isn't bad, I just dislike the layout of the cover... And the colors aren't really exciting either.

Ooh, I love me some Jamie Bochert! and I'm just happy every time a cat lands coveted gigs like this one. Less celebs and models- MORE CATS!:heart:

Meisel is the only photographer that can make her look decent. I guess the praise should actually go to Pascal Dangin... :innocent:
Also, that font is horrible.

Hmm, I don't know, I feel like I don't even have an opinion this (and that's definitely a rare occurrence, lol) although I do love Jamie and it's nice to see her on the cover, but this shot just leaves me cold. Poor cat looks uncomfortable, though.

Hopefully the full editorial will be more cinematic and less static and dull. Otherwise I don't see what's the point of this. Unless the drabness here is the spirit of our times :p

Nothing exceptional about this one, yet I'm always in the mood for out of the ordinary cover scheme.

Wow so much different opinions, I actually like this image. Interesting yes, in a good way though.

Meisel July's cover was outstanding, now another boring cover, and boring model

I don't see what's mediocre about this cover at all. There's something mysterious and almost cinematic about it. This is very Meisel, the only thing bothering me is the brown frame. But the cover definitely makes me want to see more.

love the cover.......i hope there will be a leatherstory in a kitchen/apartment with jamie borchert!!!!
