I kind of love this. It's a throwback to the joyful summer US Vogue covers of the 1940s and the dress and location look great. Plus it's quite thoughtfully composed, even if the metal railing bothers me a little.

Better hair and makeup (did they even show up?) would have really elevated it to another level. Still, a respectable effort.

The idea and the place are great, could be better executed...

I mentioned in the cover rumour thread:

From what I remember from my quick flick through the digital version, the fashion editorial section has one long 'Italian' portfolio, followed by two reprints, both seen in UK Vogue and elsewhere (the studio-shot Opening Lines, and the one with Anok wearing the same jacket in every shot).

It's a pity, because the front of the magazine seems full of original content, selling you that dream of an Italian summer.

148 pgs.

The reprints is from American Vogue gahaa

When did VI start running reprints? :astonished: How the mighty has fallen.

The reprints ruined this issue for me. Really felt the sense of community from the main editorial. But that's it.

Incredible sad how all the Euro Vogues look the same inside, but I must praise the improvement of the VI covers after the last issue under Farneti. This cover looks pretty safe and likeable, as most of the offerings under Francesca. She really has a good taste among all the people Edward and Anna named in charge.

i truly appreciate the effort to put a young upcoming italian model on the cover of Vogue Italia.
But the execution is lackluster. Like a perfume commercial from the past.

I think the August issue has been postponed, the issue is dedicated to Palermo, for a few days however, Palermo has been on fire, the fires are devastating everything, and I don't think the timing is the best, it reminds me of that episode of ugly Betty and the tornado (the same day mode magazine published a cover titled the tornado of fashion). Anyway the cover is so boring, there is nothing beautiful about it

I need to know, is she a young model plucked from obscurity who has been given the opportunity of a lifetime, or the daughter of one Italy’s richest industrialists?

Could have been executed better as it looks like a typical magazine you'd see on airports/airplanes.
It also looks a lot like Anok's Italian Vogue cover two months ago from the mood to its design.
I'm curious about the cover editorial if there are other photos that're better than what they'd put on the cover.

I saw it two days ago at the newsstands, it's catchy but after a quick flip it didn't give me much....there is a special edition with a Vogue Summer striped tote bag...
