Vogue Italia February 2022 : Coco Rebecca by Alasdair McLellan

Well, I prefer an unknown (and maybe in the future a worldwide star) on the cover that CGIs models and drawings, but as I said above, they pick the wrong picture for the cover. The 4th is simple, effortless. That's enough. Why editors has a terrible eye for this kind of details. They have a great picture but they put the worst. It's like Tyra Banks picking the worst picture on purpose because she wants to get rid of the girl. I never understand that fact. Editors has enough material to make a good cover, but trying something new results into disasters.

So the review...

216 pages, not bad for February. There's a brief two-page tribute to ALT. Reprint, reprints, reprints. And some more reprints.

First reprint is Porodina's beauty story from Vogue France, before which is a weird (albeit previously unseen) 'Art & Photography' section compiling several photographers' works. Not particularly interesting to look at. When you get to editorial pages it starts with ''COCO'', a four-page cover story with no text or interview of the actress but the two images I'll post below and a brief text on the side about actor Elliot Edusah (standing next to Coco in the second image). The cover story bleeds into a reprinted editorial titled ''AND THE KIDS'', which you can see here. Some previously unseen images will also be posted below. The first original editorial is an offensive waste of Natasha Poly. It's always nice to see her but that editorial is a travesty.

Next there's a reprint of US Vogue's cover story with Hoyeon Jung. Then McDean's story from current British Vogue. The last editorial is also the second original story. Not much to see, really. Original contents will be posted below.

Weak. Sad.

That's my review. Here's the pics:

Thanks for posting, my love @aracic.

Spirit of the Game is such a treat. (I mean, seeing Natasha is ALWAYS a treat!) Plus, an OG ed in this global pandemia (of shared stories, ie. reprints ) is an extra treat!

this is literally a washed out version of British Vogue. and on top of that, worse. not even Poly can save it! (what’s with the zoomed out shots?!! and don’t get me started on the theme…)

and the ‘main’ editorial, seriously? what a f*cking joke.

It could hardly get less thrilling that this issue, very similar to what Vogue France looks like. I'm no Natasha Poly hardcore fan but it's a shame to do this to a model with real skills: a few pictures, white background, odd poses... It looks like a newcomer's first editorial for a C-list publication.

Everything is so predictable and forgettable these days, especially with these "new versions" of the most popular Vogue editions. I won't get longer than these lines, everything else has pretty much been said before and better, but from now on I guess I'll walk my poor eyes far away from their mess.

NGL I love the other editorials. Too bad VI right now looks just like a dupe of British Vogue under Edward.

I saw this at the supermarket yesterday. I like Natasha Poly editorial and the Private Dancer one (Sportmax's advertorial) just forgetting the old Vogue Italia, its better than some things they produced recently.

I don't mind not necessarily recognize Natasha on this ed...i think its just another angle to see her, even if she is not portayed as before...and "better" than the current Vogue France...

Let's wait for the march issue...what would be the global theme?...lol...

March is "The Body issue". Some members mentioned this in Cover rumor thread. And also you can tell if you look at Vogue China March cover, which features models of different body types.

Thanks @Starry i will take a look now! :)

The only interesting about this issue is Natasha Poly, and they don’t give her the cover. Lame

The absolute nerve to cast Natasha Poly for such a disastrous fashion story! The other half of me thinks I ought to be appreciative of Francesca Ragazzi commissioning an original story with my absolute fave but not even Natasha can push through that atrocious photography and styling.

2022 and Natasha still don't have her own VI cover. One of the good things of Voldemort's reign was putting Anya Rubik, Alek Wek, Irina Shayk and Cat McNeil on the cover (and sadly at the same time he gave covers to Kendall and Hailey). But still, Natasha doesn't have one. Jesus.
