Totally agree! The modelling standards need to be higher again. Otherwise, this will be the common sight going forward. The photographs are awful.

I think the main editorial is not that bad.. but it screams filler ed.

However I have to applaud Vogue Italia. Despite the shared content madness, at least there is still an effort to curate the eds and I can tell Fransesca still cares about flow of a magazine. Even the New Horizon ed in this issue has better layout and flow compared to British Vogue.

The reprint content choice kinda boggles me tho.. why would you reprint a Usher story in Vogue Italia?? The content makes sense in US Vogue because he'll be performing in Superbowl this year.. same question like I asked in Vogue France thread (does french people care about Sienna Miller?).. does Italian care about Usher??

The cover story's not that bad; it just looks like a filler editorial in September issues
of Vogue before to add up their page counts. I personally like the third photo.

I believe it should be standards but in terms of modelling skills. That's not going to happen anyway, fashion is now full of people from social media and nepotism. It's the same celebrity obsession from the 2000s but in a whole new level. The beauty is not relevant at this point. It is having a name or likes.

It’s a desktop-publishing monthly project for the local community centre produced by 10yos. This sort of clueless and amateur effort would have been laughed off the pages and the industry by even Emanuel’s Vogue, let alone Franca’s. And when you allow yourself to remember for a moment the brand of standard that was set by Franca’s Vogue, and how that standard has been spat on by this utter lack of effort that even ModelMayhem circa2008 would have rejected, that’s how low the standards have fallen.

The concept would have worked if it was a stronger group of models. Unfortunately many of them are just standing. They should have given the main cover to Maty considering that she's carrying the group.

DEI captured every single creative industry there is. And fashion, the naive sister of design, fell under it with little to no resistance.

Of course not the only problem but it's one of the biggest.

For some reason this reminds me of the vogue italia january 2002 main ed with the girls just standing there almost zero expression but still giving face. This on the other hand is depressing! Their faces and poses are lifeless.

You mean Fashion Portrait by Meisel? One of my favorites. The cast was so strong, full of legends and the newbies at the time looked so pro. As someone said, this looks like a Benetton campaign post Toscani.
