Vogue Italia July 2011 : Juliane Gruner by Steven Meisel

I love her face and I like the composition but I'm not a fan of the purple-ish tone and all the other colors.

Woah, so happy for Juliane! It's a beautiful cover, reminds me of Meisel's cover during the late 90s. However I'm quite disappointed that it wasn't Anja or Edita since there was a rumor that an established European (who worked with Meisel before but not for Vogue Italia) will get the cover this month. Oh well, maybe next month.

Quite stunning, looks very early 00s Vogue, only with a Templer twist. She does look a little androgynous, bordering on manly though.

No surprise that the cover is rather ugly, but I'm really happy for Juliane

i'm not impressed with this cover, at first i thought it was a male model
i guess Meisel still has the androgyny fever
it's a normal cover, but i'm saving my excitement for Raquel 's August cover.

At first I thought it was Ymre. Quite a resemblance. Anyway, I echo all the things that you said how great this cover is. It really does look great! The color of the backdrop goes perfectly with the clothing in my own opinion. And yes, this feels like late 90s/early 00s VI. And I'm so glad that the Pret-a-Porter text is back! Missed seeing it on the cover.

The only things is I am not familiar at all with this model. Bummer.

Way better than the last cover thats for sure! I really like this cover I feel its very Vogue Italia. I've never heard of Juliane but she seems cool.

Why putting an unknown face when you have an amazing and stunning girl called Ymre Stiekema, who's perfectly well tailored for this kind of shot. Did Meisel forget about her or just miss her comeback

I love how Italy's fashion scene/Steven Meisel uses absolutely unpredictable casts atm, makes it quiteexciting
