Vogue Italia July 2011 : Juliane Gruner by Steven Meisel

I actually don't mind it. I'm not in love with it, but I can't say I hate it. There's something about her facial expression that draws me in. It's not pretty, it's actually sort of wrong but yet it works for me.

With that said, the colors, while gorgeous in themselves, are kind of inappropriate for July. Maybe for September or October? Also, I'm really sick of VI putting all those newbies on the cover seemingly every month this year.

I really really like this. It manage to be utterly beautiful while being unique. And yes, it does recall an earlier time for VI, which is great like because magazines in general lately have been getting stale. Hopefully this is a step in the right direction, and the content follows the cover.

I hope this is a new MG edit and if so a certain Zimbabwean goddess be better included.

Yes, I want to see Nyasha as well. She would rock this styling. He's worked with her before so I wouldn't be surprised!

Well, I don't love it but it looks like a good choice for July... The styling is also nice.

Although I am not blown away, I like the cover and the model has an interesting face and her look draws me in. The fur may be one element too many, and while I understand that there is a practical reason for text, I appreciate that VI covers are not laden with text. Kudos to Meisel for once putting together a polished image using a less experienced model.

Then I guess it's the Prada girls (Kelly, Antonia, Ondria, etc.) Or maybe some of them.

This cover is ok, i can't wait for the editorial. :)

I don't like the cover, but the ed looks interesting. The first shot is lovely!

The previews look interesting, but the Prada shot looks a wee bit over-styled. And is a fold out really necessary for the same image?

So it`s a fold out? That`s some weird idea
